Samsung VK-30R
I don’t really like VCRs released by Samsung after 2000 :( They are made in China and their quality is very poor. VCRs and VHS video cassette players made in the 90s are another matter. These are real Korean devices. Their quality is high. So I came across a Samsung VK-30R video recorder made in 1993. Good condition, high quality and nice appearance.
In this video, I unpacked the VCR, cleaned it of dust and checked it. I connected the device to a modern 43-inch smart TV.

This tape recorder straightens the tape onto the drum very quickly. 3:20 Playback will start almost instantly!

В работоспособности Самсунга я не сомневался. У меня такой же аппарат есть, купленный в 1995 году. Работает без нареканий до сих пор. Сделан на века.

I purchased my first Samsung in the mid 80s. Back then it was the new kid on the block. Surprisingly high quality and super inexpensive for the time in contrast to the more known Japanese brands. Kinda like an uppercut Sanyo of its day.

In our Soviet Union in the 1980s, only rich people could afford a VCR :( You won’t believe it, but you could exchange an apartment or a car for a VCR. The prices were so high...

yesterday i got a jvc hr-j245ee vcr and it works fine, but the ff button doesn't work. it came with antenna cable, remote, and with an output cables.

Such a curiosity: very often Samsung decks has a two chroma pathways. One is for PAL recording and second for SECAM, but for trully SECAM, not fake ME-SECAM. The same SECAM which was used in French market decks only. Your player has a VHS PAL and SECAM logotype, so is very likley situation as descibed. ME-SECAM VHS decks has a VHS logo with PAL suffix only, because they use simplified PAL circutry for writing/reading SECAM colour system. So please chcek this issue sometime ;)
