Excellent video Marq, my home turf, haven’t been to Michelham for years and I feel ready for another visit. The Plough is one of my favourite pubs and me and my other half went for lunch there on Monday for the first time since early 2020. The burger and chips was as good as I remembered and we need to get back into the habit 😂

I love the priory and surroundings, the rich history and the restoration are superb. I once went there for a 'pre-investigation' before helping with a group 'hunt', it was fascinating. It was a dark evening and the two of us ( a big man!) And myself entered into the undercroft. We were chatting as we went around the house. The room with the 'secret' area to get to the next floor was somewhat 'strange' to say the least. It felt to me 'to open'. Im presuming because that room was a later addition. The kitchen was 'active' but not as active as what was used as the office when i went. We climbed the stairs where all panels were in place and went along that corridor to the room you said youd not been in before. I opened the door and fished around for the light switch when i saw a man standing where you showed that bed, he 'threw' something at me, naturally i ducked but feeling silly i then told him off very severely! My companion had legged it back to the landing! I put the light on and nobody was there of course. I came out of there ( turning off lights and closing the door) and went off to find my companion standing on the landing facing me with a look of relief on his face. Looking towards the other wing a dark shadow walked from one room to another. I didnt mention it to him of course! On d3cending the stairs the panel was open but i closed it again, it doesnt open and close easily. We made our way to the undercroft and something very surprising happened that ive never heard any investigation group mention ( so nor shall i) we locked up behind us and left. Met the caretaker and gave back the keys and he made his way back to the priory to his flat. That was my first 'pre- investigation ' experience and the public event was better! There was plenty more but im not into spoiling things for others. There is one anomaly in that house though that nobody ever mentions! One day guys i hope you find it. X

Always meant to visit when we used to visit Kent( know it’s in E. Sussex) & never did. So many other interesting places to go in that area. Thanks for showing us round- very enjoyable

I really enjoyed that , Marq. Back in the distant past we used to go fishing there. I foul-hooked my largest fish-a Jack Pike, about 4lb. Used to take school parties there when I was bus driving. I last visited about 4 years ago when I took my American stepson and his wife there. So sad!! All the water was drying up because, I think, of predatory action by the water company which was not maintaining sluices etc, as I understood it at the time. Hopefully that situation is now resolved. Interesting to see the blacksmith's forge. A relative on my great uncle's side of the family, Gaius Carley, had the forge at East Hoathly, and, for a while at least, some of his equipment and special surgical horseshoes were on display in the priory forge.So I have a tenuous personal connection to the building.
