Jin said he came into what was comfortable for him around Fire era, while Jimin never stated the timing but said that he feels sorry for his younger self cause that boy tried his best and struggled; then he teared up and told his younger self to hurry up and become the Jimin of today 🥺 this clip is in one of the docuseries. You can check out the performance of this song from MOTS:ONE concert, watching them so grown and confident is a treat

Yeah the sad thing was Jimin was going through a lot of dieting just to fit this macho image! I’m so glad they let him be himself and you can see how comfortable he is now in his skin! If you want to see his “macho” persona in full display, you should watch the Mama 2014 awards clip BTS vs Block B...amazing performance by Jimin and Jhope!

@@marissamcwhiter9381 Not sure where you got your information from but Jimin never went through a lot of dieting to reach a macho image. He has never had any weight issues either, not before nor after debut, please check out his predebut temporary dance video, not an ounce of fat to be seen there. Also, please don't equate his teenage chubby cheeks with him being fat, like so many seem to do. He did bulk up for the macho image though, that much can be seen. And at some stage, once they went away from this concept, he lost the bulk and slimmed down (but still muscular, in particular his legs but that is typical for a dancer). And leaving teenage years behind took care of the chubby cheeks. ONCE, he mentioned a crazy diet and suddenly fans ran away with it, talking about his so called weight problems, ED even 🤦‍♀️ And that, unfortunately, is still circulating as the "truth". The truth is that ALL of the members are dieting on and off to look good in front of cameras. Or just dieting in general if they think they need it (like JK's or RM's recent salad only diets). But only Jimin seems to have a "weight problem" among fans... 🤔 So please, please be careful with what you write.

@@maggan2808 Okay.... Jimin has said HIMSELF that he basically starved himself to lose weight/stay thin... however you want to look at it. There are also MULTIPLE interviews where Jimin mentions wanting to lose weight and the members scold him for it. Just because you MAY BE in shape, doesn't mean you SEE YOURSELF that way. No one is making it up... literally stated by Jimin himself and the members.

@@maggan2808 I’m pretty sure I saw him talk about the pressure and the dieting and the concept they assigned to him in one of the documentaries I’ve seen for the concerts. No one said he had a weight issue but to maintain a ripped muscular physique as he had in their early years would need a rigorous diet and working out. He felt a lot of pressure because of that and now he does not feel the need to project a certain image.

@@marissamcwhiter9381 Jimin has always been muscular, especially in adolescence, he grew up along with his physical build, it is true that he said this because he did not want to be pigeonholed into the appearance of an aggressive male, nor because of his physique, he did not want to continue showing so much his abs because he didn't want to be remembered just for this. He has never left the gim or exercises, precisely for the era of blood, sweat and tears, he effectively worked on his appearance to get a sharp jaw and a physique according to the concept of the album, all the idols have done these things for each return. Together with Jin, they mentioned in a television program that they both went on a diet that was very rigorous but they did it for a very short time because it was very dangerous and they would never do it again, Jimin has never had weight or weight problems. That Jimin interview you're talking about is one of my favorite clips ever. And just imagine how exhausting it must've been on top of the exhaustion he was already experiencing from the training/practice/etc. So glad they gradually gained more creative ownership.

Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. I love this song. Jimin! Eeep fans herself. JK rapping was awesome. It's catchy and they look so cute. Love the eyeshadow. Their style is always on point. In the video Jimin ran over 5 guys. And in the performance he runs over a whole lot of guys. 0.0. JK always lifting Jimin too. JK mad strong. Love the message as well. I love this song and listen to it a lot. They underwent such a radical change after this but Jimin’s muscles especially his abs are missed. Jin trying to be badass is a joy. I bet he’s relieved that he’s now the one who sings the lyrical sections.

Your comment on Suga’s opening verse was very interesting because if you interpret it the way you said “making fun of ppl who only dream of having money” in that sense, Suga would be making fun of himself (or his past self) Suga has said many times that growing up he just wanted to make a lot of money and was never interested in fame. I guess the difference between himself and his audience in this song is that Suga also had a dream to become a rapper/producer, and was willing to pursue it regardless of what friends, family, or critics had to say about it.

Yes he wanted to make money but the dream was to do it on his own terms...doing what he loves...making music and producing. Quite different from what the older generation preached about studying hard, going to uni and being a professional, or working in an office, a stable job so you can buy a house...

I joined the fandom via Dynamite in 2020 and was so impressed with the quality of their debut music video. Naturally they’ve progressed since then. I remember a quote attributed to Bang PD that their aim was to make quality from the get go so they’d never be embarrassed when they looked back. I think they succeeded.

In the early days, Jin was told by the company to try and project a cool/cold image, but he's real personality always shined through in behind the scenes clips, and then he really starting being himself between Most Beautiful Moment In Life and Wings. Unlike Jin, I think Jimin's pressure to project a certain image was much more self-inflicted, I think we all go through these types of insecurities at a young age, and he was still finding himself at that time as well. Glad he is finally comfortable in his own skin, cause he inspires so many by just being himself.

I think it's a bit hard to tell with Jimin. If you look at how he walks or sits (behind the scenes, so a more natural behaviour than during photo shoots or interviews), he really comes across as very macho. So it's possible that it's part of his personality too and not something he had to learn to project or pretend during the early years. Maybe he just didn't want that to be his sole image to the fans. But like you, I'm glad that he was able to be what he wants to be. Still, he is such an enigma! And Jin, I love, love, love him. His straight forward, uncomplicated and amicable personality, his strength is so appealing to me.

What I love about them is that they were amazing, going hard and being relevant right from the get go! I am not a kpop fan although I have a bit of exposure since I discovered kdramas last year, so I wouldn’t know how good they were or how typical they were compared to other idol groups. All I know is that they made me listen to rap and hip hop! I truly enjoyed their music which totally surprised me...this was before I knew what they were singing about! This album was amazing Cos already they showed us different style with “like” included which sounded so different from no more dream and we are bullet proof. My fave would be no more dream, followed by like! That dance break! I would love to watch the dance practice to see the moves clearly!

My favourite song from 2 kool 4 skool is "I like it". Although no more dream's lyrics will always be top tier, I like it takes the spot away bcuz of its sound. It's just my style more than hip hop. And to be fair I only like hip hop when it's k-pop. I started liking rap and hip-hop only because of BTS in the first place. Personally, top three songs off the album, in order, wud be (sound wise): I like it, we are bulletproof pt 2, no more dream Dance break will always be that historic event in the bangtan books, along with Tae's expression change. I'm not even hobi biased but that man.........ugh. My ot7 heart has to be resurrected every single time😭😭💜💜

As an OG ARMY who's been with the boys since No More Dream, I have to say it's such a shame that their most successful songs (i.e., Dynamite, Butter, PTD) are not only fully in English but also completely devoid of lyrical significance while the songs that made BTS who they are remain un/underappreciated.
