I have said for years that it would be a good idea to have a come-along for adventures, I’ve yet to actually get one. Having that fail safe will give you the peace of mind that is always nice to have in the bush. I wear the Dunlop’s at work and used to for ice fishing. but once it’s -18 or colder their useless. So I bought proper boots for ice fishing feet are much happier. Also I wear a size bigger and put bama socks on too. Keeps your feet warm and dry.

Warm 1700xt winch. Saved me so many times. It’s not hard mounted it has a quick release plate. Can move it around. For the price it’s worth it Weight in gold. Can winch things forward / backward, onto /off of trailers. It’s small and light enough to work on a flasher battery

There are a few places selling reproduction Canadian Military mitts, the ones with the wool, or fleece patch on the back of the hand. These were used to warm up your cheeks in brutal cold but I found you can use them to warm your knuckles and keep your hands moving too just by rubbing the back of your hand across the pad or kneading it. Any way, they are a great tool for backwoods exploration, and are amazingly warm to boot! Best of luck on your next back country adventure, I know this one was a bit underwhelming but always onward and upward, they can't all house trophy monsters. Stay safe!!
