I usually do the inspection of the ramp on my first walk around. I open the door and secure it, I then check the seals, lights to make sure they working and in good condition. I deploy the ramp and lowered it all the way to the floor. I then check for hydraulic leaks and make sure all labels , instructions are present. I then check the lift handle bars for securement. I then raise the ramp about 12 inches to check the front and rear flaps. They must hold in place in case the wheel chair itself was not properly secured. Then raise the lift ramp and stow away. I close the door and that completes an inspection of the ramp. Check out my video on inspection of the wheel chair lift. Thank you

The wheel chair ramp must be inspected Everytime you do a pre-trip. Even if you don't use it. It is part of the bus. An example is you fire extinguisher, you might never use it but you do inspect it daily or whenever youare assigned to a bus. I hope I make it clear. If you take a bus that is equipped with a wheelchair lift ramp to CHP you are expected to also inspect the ramp too. Thank you
