Thanks Ben! Eagle Cap blew me away too! Felt like a mix of the Sierras and the PNW. And yes! Super glad we connected on Catalina! The video of that trip will be out soon and we can both relive that adventure.

Beautiful video and love the time-lapse of the rain storm on the water. I'm considering a trip to this same area, so appreciate the beta!

It's a fantastic area... we basically did this loop minus Sacajawea Peak. We camped at Horseshoe lake the first night and Glacier Lake the 2nd night. www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/hawkins-pass-glacier-pass-eagle-cap-matterhorn?u=i&sh=bqfqy4

I did this hike for my 50 mile hike twice while I was in high school for the Boy Scouts. I remember the highlight of the trip was sticking my head in the glacier water lake and eating at Taco Bell in la grande at the end of the week lol. Really cool video and thanks for sharing.

Great job. I normally get a eagle cap summit in every year, I do a dayhike from two Pan TH. Looks like I need start earlier and get glacier in. Looks you guys handle the down hill well, and the bugs all smiles. Share more so we smile as well.

Ever been to Razz Lake? I guess there is an upper & lower one but which one we were at back in the day (1972) I have no way of knowing now. I had thought all these years that there was only one. To get to it we had to check the map sinc e there was no trail up to it from the switchback trail we were on. It was not difficult to find as the route to it uphill took only about 15-20 minutes. From the ridge north of the lake one eventually has a view of the Matterhorn. Apparently there is or was a non technical scramble along a ridge that separates the Matterhorn from Sacagawea Peak. Would be great to try that sometime. These are the 2 highest Wallowa Peaks, apparently.

Nice done! The time-lapse portion and Horseshoe Lake is wonderful, as is the alpenglow shot at Glacier Lake. I did a different loop in Eagle Cap in 2017, but hit many of the spots you did. The view of the Matterhorn and the lakes basin from Eagle Cap and Glacier Lake in the other direction are truly awe inspiring. Great memories.

Really great video. Excellent footage. I was unfamiliar with Eagle Cap Wilderness. Now I want to go!! Only critique I would add is that you should say more about exactly where you are -- what lake, trail name, etc. Keep up the good work!

Good idea! Gonna start adding more voice overs and text to the videos. BTW we did this route minus Sacajawea Peak. www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/hawkins-pass-glacier-pass-eagle-cap-matterhorn?u=i&sh=bqfqy4

Spectacular video! We did basically this exact route but the opposite direction, I think we even stayed at the same campsite on Horseshoe lake. The eagle caps completely blew us away, can't wait to take another trip out there. Tons of great trails in there

Eagle Cap exceeded my expectations as well. Felt like a PNW version of the Cal Sierras. Very cool with tons of well established trails. A real playground!!!
