The 2023 camping season continues, but not in the RV
Bill from ‪@MaksimOutdoors‬ has organized a backpacking adventure in the Allegheny National Forest! He has invited Chris ‪@HikingwithRicky‬ and myself to join him on this epic journey! Be sure you subscribe to their channels for more amazing Pennsylvania content!
We’re hiking the Minister Creek Loop which features a fantastic overlook, rock formations, cliffs, and slot canyons.
Day one will cover the more scenic parts of the trail, as weather looks glum for day 2. This area is incredibly diverse, in tree species and geology. We have a blast exploring the rocks and slot canyons at the beginning of this hike.
We then make our way to the Minister Valley Overlook, which features some stunning fall foliage. After taking in the sites, we put on some miles, and eventually reach a camping area called Triple Fork. This is where we will make camp and spend the night.

You are the man crouch! It was an honor hanging out with you rain or shine, you did an excellent job showing one of my favorite trails in the state, can’t wait til the next one. Sam and I were laughing pretty hard about your “you’ll be getting a lot of views of these guys since they love their walk bys” comment 😂 can’t wait til next week

I think that was only after the third walk by we did lol. I appreciate the invite, definitely one of my favorite trails as well, and one I wouldn’t have found otherwise. I’m hoping to dive into next week’s episode tonight!

"I don't think it will rain.". LOL! It was nice to meet all of you on the trail. I was camped with the hammock a short distance away. Friday was beautiful and even with the soggy morning on Saturday, I was still glad to get outside. Thanks for the video. Good job!

lol wishful thinking I guess! It was nice meeting you as well! Friday was one of the nicest days I’ve had out in the woods, perfect weather and scenery, couldn’t ask for better! Saturday wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been, but will get to that in the next episode… Thanks for watching!

The next episode is a fun time! While the scenery might not be as good, we have a great time around the fire, and even find a creepy old building to explore!

lol yeah it’s certainly different flying solo. I’m hoping to get at least Rachel involved in the next backpacking trip. Hopefully that materializes. Definitely add this hike to your list; with your photography skills, you could get some great shots in those slot canyons!

I think you’d really like the Minister Creek Campground. Your rig would be the perfect size for those sites, my new one is way too big. Y’all could easily hike up to the overlook and back as a day hike.

You could easily get to the overlook and back as a day hike. There’s a lot of debate on how long this trail actually is, but I think to do the whole loop in a day would be doable. It would be a long day though, I’d say +-8 miles.
