This is great video , shows the true challenges of the hike. The water crossing looks cold I am the bare feet guy, I take my boots off. It was a great hike, awesome wilderness that keeps changing.

We definitely enjoyed it when the weather was adequate for sitting outside. I have no complaints really, it took us to some amazing places and we made great memories in it! We just kept getting cold, rainy, snowy situations where we needed the space indoors.

I enjoyed your review after watching the videos. It gave me a fantastic reference. It had meaning to me. Thanks. I have an editing question. You are filming yourself talking and then you show clips of your video while you are talking. How do you do that? Can anybody help me?
@mountainsintomemories
@mountainsintomemories 2 күн бұрын
I’m using iMovie to edit, and this could be different with different software. There’s 2 options. The first, is to right click a clip and hit detach audio. Then you can drag the detached audio anywhere you want it. I’ve been doing this a lot in order to change scenes before the audio is done, it’s an easy way to shorten the video without loosing anything. Another option is to drag a clip on top of another. In this case you’ll get the audio from both clips. In some cases you’ll want to mute one or the other.

Great video. Lots of good info- thanks. I have a 2016 1500 5.7L, and it seems to struggle with a 4800 lb trailer. Starting to have some issues, so I'm looking at a new Tradesman 2500 6.4. Local dealer has several for around $50K. Don't want the payments, but the 2016 is starting to nickel and dime me.
@mountainsintomemories
@mountainsintomemories 6 күн бұрын
The 6.4 is like day and night compared to the 5.7, especially if yours is a 6 speed. Truck payments suck, but getting stranded or having to constantly fix stuff sucks too.

I would argue about the coils. Those coils are stiffer than gm 2500 leaf and no different than ford. The only difference is the coils are slightly smaller toward the top. So when you're empty it gives you a better ride. The do not squat anymore than anything else

Great video Ryan, excellent narration. It was definitely one of the most challenging days on a trail that I have had. Lions Head was incredible, as was camp Nirvana, probably about as perfect of a campsite as one can ask for. Love your use of short timelapses, you are the timelapse King!

Yeah, I can't remember a tougher day on a trail. We really covered a lot of ground, and rough ground at that. The scenery from Lions Head was fantastic! I'm so glad we made it up there. Words can't even describe that awesome campsite. I'm really liking the GoPro for Timelapse's. It seems to do a better job than the iPhone and is easier to use.

I’m not sure why you just didn’t turn the whole jack sideways. Mark and drill 3 hole and just use stainless washers and lock nuts. Seemed like you went thru a lot of trouble when all you had to do was drill 3 holes.
@mountainsintomemories
@mountainsintomemories 7 күн бұрын
I didn’t want to compromise anything structural. There’s no room to easily drill there. The easy thing would just be to turn it using the existing 3 holes and just have it facing a bit backwards.

I was going to be really disappointed if we missed Lions Head. It was an amazing experience to take in the views there. I was also a little disappointed in the lack of water. I must not have actually hit record at Stonecoal falls, because I know I should’ve had more footage from there…
