I never backpack without my dog. There is nothing better than that! Just the two of us. @thomas: take a separate waterbottle for the dog and you can put the water back in so nothing goes to waste.

Would also like to add you could wear a harness for yourself to attach the dog. Much easier than holding the leash or attaching it via the hip belt clip. Canicross has lots of light/cheap ones which are great for balance and hands-free.

@@joefoster5669 Ruffwear has a leash that has an adjustable handle that can be extended large enough to go around your waist. Very useful for hands free leash use! Edit: I noticed at 33:45 ish he's using that leash.

The new intro and theme look and sound fantastic! 👌 Bryan couldn't have said it better, It takes 100,000 to tango! A great way to come full circle back to where it all began! Beautifully shot! The plant and mushroom id and fire starting by Andrew, what more could you ask for?! Loved the redux on the music from the original episode! French Woman on a Bike is classic Adventure Archives. An excellent idea! Sierra proved her worth! 🐶 Kudos to Nate for the amazing drums and to Marisa, such a beautiful voice. Thank you Andrew, Bryan, Robby, Thomas and Sierra.👍🙏 Oh and the shout outs were once again sublime! No pathetic cards in this deck! LOL

Nice new vid guys. I love that Thomas tan pants treats Sierra like his dog daughter. I feel the same way about my dog son Ranger. He was born at an animal shelter in Mississippi and came all the way to Maine to be a part of our family. His original name was Vinn which was changed somewhere along the way. He was adopted by a different family first and he was rehomed to me 💚 That makes 4 homes before he was a year old. This is his final home too.

On #ThisDayInHistory in 1974, 32-year-old Muhammad Ali became the heavyweight champion of the world for the second time when he knocked out 25-year-old champ, George Foreman in the eighth round of the “Rumble in the Jungle,” a match in Kinshasa, Zaire now the Democratic Republic of the Congo). Seven years before, Ali had lost his title when the government accused him of draft-dodging and the boxing commission took away his license. The “Rumble in the Jungle” was Africa’s first world heavyweight championship match. The government of the Central African nation staged the event - its president, Mobutu Sese Seko, personally paid each of the fighters $5 million simply for showing up. At 4:30am, 60,000 spectators gathered in the moonlight at the outdoor Stade du 20 Mai to watch the fight. They were chanting “Ali, bomaye” (“Ali, kill him”) in the Lingala language. When the fighters entered the ring, Foreman possessed the heavyweight title, but Ali owned the hearts of the crowd. By the eighth round, the referee counted Foreman out and declared Ali the champion by knockout. Ali had become only the second heavyweight in history, behind Floyd Patterson, to regain his championship belt. To learn more about this moment in history, visit histv.co/2HSgp9A

I have a camp just to the north at Mt. Storm lake. My father established the camp as a base to explore the surrounding area. We backpacked thru the wilderness area back during the eighties before the crowds discovered it. It has always been a magical place to me. Thank You for capturing the essence of "Heaven".

1:07:01 The way you can tell if it's a black widow's web is if you pluck at one of the strings; if it breaks easily, it isn't a black widow web. Black widow webs, pound for pound, have more strength than steel. You can feel it in the web fibers; it almost feels like a taut piano wire when you pluck it.

I was happy to see everyone making her feel like part of the group and gave her the needed attention especially with these tiring journeys. Thomas is like her dad and best friend, always keeping an eye on her and seeking her best interest every step of the way!!!! That was really cool to watch. A wonderful episode, seeing all 4 guys together and Sierra!

Robby, you have to really toss the frisbee far, dogs want to run and she is a retriever, they are bred for the water and cold. I think a lot of us are here more for the after meal than the actual hike, LOL. Great sentiment guys, we should realize the beauty of this natural world, no man made structure can even come close to its simplicity and complexity.

Love the vid fellas - I am a West Virginia native and discovered and fell in love with Dolly Sods in May of 2020. A few friends of mine and myself tried to park at that same parking lot at the Blackbird Knob Trailhead that you guys did, and also had no idea about the parking permit. We discovered that the parking lot about a mile down the road that you pass before you arrive at the parking permit lot had no indicators that it required a parking permit. We ended up parking there and hiking to the trailhead from there, which wasn't that bad. We were worried that we would get a ticket anyway, but ended up not receiving one after staying overnight, even though parking enforcement had issued tickets at the parking permit lot near the trailhead. Long story short, if you guys or anyone else cannot get a parking permit for the parking permit lot closest to the Blackbird Knob trailhead, try the lower parking lot that is about a mile down-road from the direction that you came in. Also be sure to check the signs there to make sure nothing has been added about needing tickets there! Cheers!

Amazing video as always. My fiancée, dog, and I have been to Dolly Sods twice since originally finding your videos earlier in the year - Sorry that we're one of those many, many people who have made it more crowded than you remembered! You have been our inspiration to go backpacking and dip our toes into backcountry camping, which has been an absolutely amazing experience. It was really fun to hike Dolly Sods and recall landmarks that we saw on your older DS video, then watch this and see you hike pretty much the exact same trail we did! Thanks as always for the amazing content and for being a big reason why the three of us are enjoying the great outdoors in a brand new way :)

We then went down Beaver View trail to an AWESOME campsite where it bends around a point. Day 3 we hiked back Bear Rocks Trail to the trailhead.
