BACKPACKING THAILAND 🇹🇭 EPISODE 14 📍KOH TAO
The next stop on our backpacking adventure was the small island of Koh Tao. Famous for scuba diving! I'm really looking forward to getting into the diving but as for this vlog, my boyfriend Jérémy and I arrived on the island and visited Koh Nang Yuan Island where you have the famous Thailand viewpoint! We had a little snorkel around before getting absolutely caught in the rain. We were staying at Summer hostel in Koh Tao which I'd highly recommend. Our room was really nice and the staff were super friendly.

Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

LOVE Koh Tao, have so many funny memories doing my PADI advanced open water there! I've been watching your content for years and it's great to re-live places through your eyes. You were one of the reasons I took the leap to doing a WHV in Australia. Stayed there for 3 years and it was the best decision of my life. My friend actually met you quite a few months back in Tulum, she's now doing her freediving masters in Honduras! Love your videos, always find them so informative and inspiring, I'm hoping that one day we'll cross paths somewhere off travelling! All the best Christianne :)

Brings back memories.. I did my PADI open water on Koh Tao 15 years ago! I never made it on that hike, the views are gorgeous. As you may find out when you dive, there is a place to dive very close to Koh Nang Yuan. Can't wait to see your dive video. Have a blast! It is the best place to dive in Thailand, besides the Similian Islands.

I was in Koh Tao just 2 months ago and stayed in summer hostel as well! Very nice hosts, loved it there. I actually did do one of those snorkelling tours you talked about and it was so worth it! We even saw turtles on one of the snorkel spots! When we went up the viewpoint of the island with the tour it was indeed very crowded but the tour guides took professional photos up there for every guest.

I don't watch television I have a few KZfaqrs I love to follow. As I was watching a couple I follow on KZfaq yesterday they were talking how they met at the moon party. Sharing some of the same places you had just been to. Really cool to hear other KZfaqrs talk about the moon party. I may be a bit older but it is now on my bucket list. 🌺🌼🌺

1:20 the Lomprayah company boat ride is a must. its a double hull boat and the way its cuts through water at a high speed is just amazing. especially on a very calm sea, the experience is superb. i took a ride from Ko Tao to Chumphon.

Wow, this looked like paradise 😍 I also couldn't help but chuckle when you talked about how you'd chosen the cheaper, slower ferry, then said the name of it... high speed catamaran. I feel like they may need to re-brand if if a faster competitor has rocked up, lol! 🤣

Ko Nang Yuan is a small island very close to Ko Tao. It is famous for its diving spots and its great snorkeling beach. Many day trippers come from the islands of Ko Tao, Ko Pha Ngan and Ko Samui, as well as from Surat Thani and Chumphon on the Thai mainland.

I'm heading there on 27th of March, currently in Chiang Mai, off to Phuket. The last 3 times I've done this trip the sun's been roasting but on the Weather apps it says it's storms for next 14 days unfortunately, but it doesn't look so bad, just cloudy. Love the series. Dan.

I’ve just started watching your videos and I love them! How were the conditions on the boat?? I had one of the worst days of my life taking the high speed ferry a day before a tropical storm. Was horribly sea sick with the rest of the boat for almost two hours on the way to koh Tao! Felt sick for a day after! Safe travels!

I will be going to Brazil for my brother's wedding in 2 months! My first time out of the country when I did a mini Europe tour of my own devices back in 2017. I am so excited! I will be staying in the city Jundiai. Do you know of anyone who has maybe filmed in this city? I know it's not as popular as Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, but it does have a population of over 400,000, so I'm hoping some travelers have filmed their journey and showed some of the sites. I'm excited to see my future brother-in-law's home city. The Portuguese is worrying me though. It doesn't seem as easy to pick up as Spanish tends to be. Anyway, thank you for all of the fun content. I hope to be you when I grow up. (Yes I'm older than you. No we don't have to talk about that. Ha!) Safe travels!

I used rpm when we went to koh tao! Koh Tao has the best beaches I’ve ever seen in my life, if you’re comfortable to take the moped on some dodgy roads.

As for lost luggage, it's best to hide an Apple AirTag for Samsung SmartTag in your bag. Both have very good location tracking whereas TILE trackers do not. Samsung SmartTag+ (plus) has a more accurate location ability but 1/2 the battery life than the previous two.

Hi, I can answer this for you....nobody ever asks for any kind of licence when renting bikes in Thailand! However, It's sensible to make sure that you're competent to ride one, and it's vital to check your travel insurance covers you when riding.

How do you travel from country to country during the pandemic since they ask for negative COVID testing? I’m planning to backpack South America this summer and I don’t know how to do it with all of the COVID testing restrictions ! Any suggestions ?

You just comply with them 😅 you can get tested pretty much anywhere in the world so anything is possible!

Hiii, Love your videos! I've got a question. Do you have a motorcycle driving license? Because these 'scooters' are all 100+ CC and you need a proper license for that. If not how do you do it? Much loveee from Holland!

Thailand do not require you to have any specific motorcycle license to rent these. Though your insurance back home might have a problem with it!

It turns out that the traveler only needs to know a few dialogues and you can easily travel around the world!
