It should be noted Chuck that the rounds basin does 24.8 GPM at the grate, while the square does does 348 GPM at the grate. 4 inch pipe does 135 GPM at 1% slope. So the outlets are the same, but the inlets are not. If you insist on 4in pipe there, the round is undersized. But if you are only expecting 24 GPM, then it's fine. So yes, has a time and place. But no, not the same.

Inputs to the basin are different and the large basin also can collect dirty and sand?

If I've learned anything from Chuck, it is that all those catch basins have the same size outlet hole. Water is going to flow out of them at the same rate regardless of the side of the basin.

Absolutely! And if you don't have a strong pump to discharge from the sump basin, it won't do much in a heavy rainfall.
