I don't understand why you folks don't get a u-shaped connection with a valve you can attach to end of pipe so you don't have to stand on a latter to connect it. Plus this way the weight of the hose length is pulling down instead of tending to lean pipe over.

Can you do it without any cloth and just dig a hole and fill it with rocks? This way the water doesn't have to go through that cloth filter. Would that work?

So obviously if you are trying to dig an 8" wide trench an 8" wide shovel will be faster than using a 5" wide shovel. Use the shovel that matches the desired trench width. Don't use an 8" shovel if you only need a 4" wide trench.

Yeah, it’ll work for a lil while. Soon as it rains hard enough and long enough to flood it good, it’ll clog up with mud and won’t drain anymore. Just a waste of time.

Chuck! Love your videos! question. I have puddle issues around my driveway. If I wasn’t to do a vertical drainage project. What’s your thoughts on making small holes in the hard pan by hammering rebar in several spots. hammer it down pull it out move it over hammer down pull it out etc. then with the hard pan being penetrated in several spots would the water be able to drain better?

Yes, if you are digging a trench that wide use a normal width but to use a trench shovel for that width is not smart, the trench shovel is great so you don't have to mive a lot of dirt if you are using it for that width only , you don't need 8 inches for ¾ pipe or even 2 inch pipe, unless multiple pipes. I would use the sod cutter and a trench shovel, why move all that dirt when not needed sometimes less is more
