There are 700 million different species of bacteria in our mouth. If you do not practice good oral hygiene you are opening yourself up to infections such as gingivitis or periodontal disease. Also, these bacteria can go into our bloodstream and causes more damage to our body. Endocarditis, cardiovascular disease, and osteoporosis are the few examples of infectious diseases that stem from bacteria in our mouth and can harm our overall health.

I am going in for a xray, and so they can pull a tooth way in the back of my mouth. I had never been to the dentist, I'm 42, and they said I had paradontis. I appreciate the explanation

Can the bad bacteria live inside a tooth that has been crowned or a tooth that has been treated by root canal? How can you kill bad bacteria living inside a tooth that you can't brush or go after with mouthwash?

Hi RM, thanks for reaching out. Yes, bacteria can live under the crown or tooth had a root canal done. In fact, not all bacteria in the mouth are bad. We also have good bacteria that keep our teeth and gums healthy. We need the balance of good and bad bacteria because if we tipped that balance may lead to dental concerns, such as tooth decay, gum disease and etc. Just keep up with your dental cleaning appointment regularly, brush your teeth twice a day, and floss regularly. Hello sir! I did scaling and polishing while I was pregnant and after the treatment I have sore throat for more than 2 weeks now and it’s making me to cough seriously and I don’t know what to do. I when to the clinic and I was given strepsil but it didn’t cure it. Pls what can I do? I am really scared it shouldn’t affect my unborn baby

My drs don't believe me at all.... for me personally, it gives me gas pain in my arms and neck

Sorry to hear that. I highly recommend that you seek a Functional Medicine doctor. Their approach is more natural and holistic.

I'll take any advice, I been ignored since March 2020.... what I am going through is something I already went through 2012-2019.. I thought my blood pressure and diabetes were just bad but in 2019 I studied about pain management medications and gum infection... I have 8 symptoms of periodontal abcess but every medical professional is ignoring me.. I had the same exact symptoms in 2019 and when he removed the hidden calculus and tartar when he was trying to save my fill in... I know exactly what's wrong but no one will scale the problem.... im battling a leg disease and could be in bad shape if im still ignored... my primary dentist is so bad, I have bacteria in my gums but im taking vitamins and gummies so im masking the infection if I don't my insulin resistance and blood pressure resistance will get much much worse
