I never met a dentist that wanted to fix anything or instruct proper care. I have been sold Dental implants for 2 teeth with some bone loss. I have been sold teeth cleaning for $1000.00 for the 12 remaining teeth that I have. In my opinion, dentistry is about the same as the eyeglass industry. I have yet to receive care that has improved anything except the doctors bank account. My teeth have been completely stopped from decaying. Breath is no longer an issue and cavities are receding. Dr Ellie is the one that offers help. Yes the ONE.

Way to go Mark! As the originator of XyliMelts for dry mouth, I've been using xylitol since 1989. Yet 94% of my new patients have never heard of xylitol. And these are people who've had a lot of dental experience. Why dentists are not telling patients about xylitol is a mystery to me. If they truly cared about their patients, they would at least mention it. Yesterday one of my long-time patients told me xylitol gum is the best thing he's done for his teeth since I recommended it. He now buys it by the 1000-piece bag.

My dentist told me today that long-term use of xylitol leads to the growth of xylitol-resistant S Mutans. I then found several research articles confirming this, but some studies state that the xylitol-resistant S. Mutans is less cariogenic than regular S. Mutans, while others state that there is no difference in the cariogenecity of the two. I'm not sure what to make of this new information, and would love to hear your thoughts.

I watched this video after being told I have periodontal disease, horrible gums, and will lose teeth. No advice from the dentist, they want to do scaling by the end of this January, 2024. I looked online. Got my first waterpik. Learned online how to use it efficiently, with peroxide. 1. Waterpik, with a drop of peroxide. I still use floss. 2. Bought xylitol in mints. Have those in the day. .56grams per mint. Some brands have over 1gram. 3. Xylitol, once a week rinse. A liquid form. 10% xylitol. 4. Bought an electric toothbrush. Seems to erase coffee and other stains. 5. And still use regular mouth wash. First week, lots of bleeding gums. 2nd week. Two bleeding gums. 3rd week bleeding gums are clearing up fast. 4th week. My teeth look white, not yellow stained. Shiny, seems to be a nice film on my teeth all day. New enamel?Remineralizing? No bad breath. No dry mouth. Gums are pink, not bluish, purple, or dark anymore. Gums feel healthy and alive! Teeth look amazing. Anyways. Only four weeks. Why don't dentists teach any of this??? They only look, give you floss and say bye. I wonder, the last 2 gums still bleed. Will they heal too. Eventually? With this new treatment and routine, I believe so. Update later. My mouth and gums look healthy and I feel better. Thank you.
@renuzoraladvancedoralhealt7616

Here's why your gums can still bleed -- if you have gum pockets deeper than 6mm, then usually no amount of rinsing or oral irrigation can reach past 6mm. So, you might actually still need a deep cleaning -- BUT MAYBE ONLY IN SELECTED AREAS, NOT ALL THE TEETH -- Be sure to get your gums probed and maybe get a 2nd opinion too. Most dentists don't have time to tell people everything about dental prevention. But they could hand out listicles or bullet points of links to look up about prevwntion.

I had the same thing happen to me. I stopped my bone loss and gum recession 6 years ago. A additional vital tip I got from a periodontist is to use interdental brushes. They are tiny brushes that go between your teeth, and come in various sizes. I work with 3 different sizes in my mouth. I dip the brushes in xylitol toothpaste and go between each tooth twice a day. This is the only way to get rinses or paste between your teeth to help them. It’s a lot of work but it’s worth it.

I've read that xylitol is used by some MDs that treat chronic Lyme. Xylitol breaks up bacterial plaques, inside the body, too. Presumably, by its action of killing bacteria that try and eat it. Bacterial plaques are implicated in the fearful increase in antibiotic resistance we observe these days, so there may be other benefits we don't understand yet.

I’m 21 and I been trying to improve my oral health once and for all. I grew up being neglected by my parents and they never taught me how important it was to brush your teeth specially after meals, I was also supposed to get braces when I was 12 but that didn't happen and they took to the dentist only two times in my life. 2 years ago i started my journey, and this year I started chewing xylitol gum twice a day, doing oil pulling (i been doing consistently twice a day every day for already 3 months), flossing, taking vitamin k2. @@thatstheguy07 i just read in Kiss Your Dentist Goodbye by Phillips DDS, Ellie- in chapter 12 xylitol it says consuming less than 6 grams daily may not give positive bacterial changes and they said to check the gum because it may be so low its insignificant. also- XYLITOL AND CAVITY PREVENTION Adults who regularly eat around two teaspoons of xylitol (in any form) each day can remove 95 percent of cavity-forming germs from their mouths within six months. Anyone who continues to eat xylitol will notice less plaque forming on their teeth, and the need for dental cleanings will gradually be reduced or eliminated. New parents can use the xylitol mouth-cleaning system in the most exciting way of all-to help control the transmission of harmful bacteria to their babies and limit the chance of their children having a cavity by 70 to 90 percent.9. I won't use artificial sweeteners and don't care to use regular sugars -- for those obvious reasons. I actually began using Xylitol in 2020 as a nasal spray -- XClear. It was recommended by my FLCCC doctor as a preventative measure for C-19. I continue to use XClear as a way to clear my nasal passages -- it is very soothing.

I’m sure when in school they believed that they were being thought the very best in information. Sadly even doctors feel the same way. There are the few that do their own research that really want to solve health problems. American is setup in a weird way, you pay for health and dental insurance, you go to the doctor, they give you a prescription to suppress the symptoms but not cure the cause, the pharmaceutical companies sale you or your insurance pills which you are paying for anyway, and the sicker you get, the more expensive insurance you need, and the hospital run expensive test, the doctor sees you again for fifteen minutes after waiting an hour, and you get more pills! It’s a system that’s killing Americans because the FDA approves refined sugars, sugar substitutes, and hormones for chickens, beef and pork that we consume, and that doesn’t even scratch the surface of the harmful things that other countries have rejected from the U.S. 😮

May I suggest that when chewing xylitol gum, try to retain as much of the xylitol as possible and as long as possible before swallowing it. That way, you can use it plus your saliva as a kind-of mouthwash, AND the gum-chewing sort-of acts like a pump or oral irrigator to push the xylitol/saliva solution into grooves of teeth, between teeth, under gums a little, etc. Also, in this way, by not swallowing it right away, you make the effects last longer AND, if xylitol give you gas, you can just spit it out after a minute or so. If you've ever heard of "oil-pulling", you know what I'm talking about -- BUT -- I would say that doing "xylitol-pulling" would be MASSIVELY more effective and convenient than oil-pulling. Mark -- we've got to get together sometime on your podcast and have some banter! It would be fun and informative.

I am a user of xylitol, as explained by Dr Ellie Phillips on its use and benefits, and I can assure you after using it for 5 months, it is the best thing for my teeth. I have noticed my gums are healthier, teeth feel stronger, my teeth always feel clean. I put off getting a root canal that I needed 5 months ago, I don't need it anymore. In fact, I don't think I need a dentist anymore. Check out the pioneer of xylitol use for teeth- dentist Dr Ellie Phillips on youtube. She has many videos. Newer research has shown that the only other sugar that works like xylitol is erythritol, and it is even better than xylitol. I don't use chewing gum though. I dissolve a small amount in water, and after cleaning my teeth after each meal, I let this solution swirl in my mouth and then I swallow. Basically I have xylitol working on my teeth between meals, and in the night .

Only one tiny area on one tooth hsd plague , my gums are pink and healthy , she really didn’t know what to do , anyways she suggested 6 mths from 3 mths checkups ,I agreed on 4 mths then I will review. The great things is this even though I didn’t follow Dr Ellie’s protocol as I couldn’t get all the products I used what I could find and it paid off. Then I discovered xylitol and chew xylitol gums almost everyday during my second pregnancy. Yesterday I got back from the dentist for my yearly appointment and they did some x-rays and I had ZERO cavities and my dentist was amazed and kept asking me what medications do I take and what Ive been doing and when looking at the x-ray he only said this “this is more than good, it looks fantastic” so thank you xylitol gums, the one thing I keep repurchasing over and over 🙏

So encouraging. I was just at the dentist's and he told me that essentially only your gums are affected during pregnancy...which was untrue as I know saliva is acidic during pregnancy and that is a favorite environment for cavity causing bacteria. Stress also lowers body pH with increasing cortisol Needless to say, I began a deep dive into this topic to save my teeth before the next pregnancy. After the third baby I got a giant cavity regardless of the care I put into my teeth. I go to the dentist because I really care for my oral health and it was discouraging to have a big cavity.

Man, have dentists failed us all for the past 50 years... I don't know anybody in America that has good teeth. Anyone. Everyone brushed and flossed and used Listerine and none of it helped. In fact, my dentist made things way worse by grinding down two perfectly teeth to add in a bridge to bridge a gap where I had lost a tooth. I didn't like the bridge at all, there was no point to it, so I didn't wear it, which left the two teeth totally exposed and of course without the enamel or outer layer any more, they eroded to nothing... so I lost... 3 teeth in a row. Great job. Looking back in hindsight, I'm like, how could I let that absolute 1d10t do such a thing...
