Happy holidays, Degrassi heads! You might think I'm beating a bit of a dead horse with this series, and to that I say, "Yes. But we haven't done a seasonal one yet!"
Enjoy my reviews of a selection of holiday 'films' starring actors from various Degrassi eras. Some made me laugh, some surprised me, some made me wonder if making these videos might be contributing to my blood pressure issues-- per my last doctor's appointment, it's dangerously high for my age! if i saw a picture of the famous dog beethoven without anyone explicitly stating that it was, in fact, beethoven, i would still think it's beethoven because saint bernards and beethoven are intrinsically linked in my brain and i can't see a saint bernard without immediately thinking "oh hey it's beethoven."

historical christmas (christian) romance is like its own sub-industry. i worked at a library in a conservative county and the amount of nearly identical christian christmas romances we bought every year was INSANE. these ladies who write christian romances sometimes are putting out 3 or 4 books between late october and january 1st

The fact that I can immediately picture half of those gay Degrassi clips is hilarious. Riley looking up the “am I gay” quiz is still one of the funniest, relatable things in that show. The panic was real back then (I was that age in the late 2000s, it was baaaad) but god it’s so funny. We’ve all been there, buddy 😅 You 100% need to watch Make the Yuletide Gay featuring Marco from Degrassi, early gay Christmas movie! It’s notable, for sure, so it could be a next year idea, even if it might not be enough to talk about plot-wise. Groundbreaking, even if it’s very 2000s!

So my parents worked a combined 80 plus years in a hospital, so I notice when hospitals are portrayed in television and film. I just have to say that in Christmas With a Prince, thank God there's an eye chart in the kid's room and not a EKG machine. . .or a IV bag. . .or. . .plastic tubing?

Just so everyone knows, Dog Carting is a dog sport and molosser breeds are particularly common in the sport, though dogs of all sizes take part with appropriately sized equipment. So, Beethoven pulling the sleigh is realistic. The flying part, not so much.

I was already familiar with Christmas With A Prince because of Kennie JD's video on it EDIT: Oh and to top, the actor who plays the prince (Nick Hounslow) is actually British. He left London at 18 to pursue his career in modeling and acting

Thank you for explaining the entire Beethoven saga as i could not understand how we got from hiding puppies in part 2 to whatever the heck that Christmas one was about. Still not over the fact that Beethoven talks.

my guess is that they accidentally wrote a story that didn't really have anything to do with Beethoven, so they had to make him a character who could talk in order to integrate him into the story. which really shows how much the franchise had gone to the dogs!

4:42 I suspect the trajectory of the Christmas with a Prince trilogy is a bit of a trope used in Hallmark/Lifetime type movies. I know of at least 3 other film series where the sequence is 1st movie romance, 2nd movie wedding, & 3rd movie baby.

The age gap thing does throw me off a bit in that last movie. Because I'm just sitting here thinking about how I was in elementary school when Craig was already in his late teens and early young adulthood on Degrassi and me and that actress are the same age so...🙃

no bc what's actually insane is that on the day this was posted I was at an airport and there was a dog next to us and the check in people were like "do you know who that is" and we were so confused and IT WAS THE BUSHES BAKED BEANS DOG. anyways I proved your point about Beethoven, got pictures of Duke and even ended up on the same plane as him :)

The actor who plays the villain in Beethoven’s Christmas Adventure that you recognized from a season of Supernatural you never watched is in a very funny, very weird movie called Better Off Dead. Not like it’s a tall order but I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy it more than Beethoven’s Christmas Adventure.

The National Tree has always been one of my fav Hallmark holiday movies. Not in a 'so bad it's good way' and not in a 00s nostalgia way. I always found it motivational and the father-son bonding is well executed. I didn't find anything about it 'bad funny.'

A movie I watched call Time for Them to Come Home for Christmas on Hallmark has the exact same problem you complained about in Maple Creek. Who sees someone doing something with someone of the opposite gender, automatically assumes the worst and then just...gives up and leaves? I hate that movie trope so much 😭

this might be more of a halloween thing but the second season takes place in winter so i always think of it during this time - theres an anthology series called Slasher and the second season is has Paula Brancati's character and her friends (one of them played by Kaitlyn Leeb) kill Melinda Shankar's character. Also has Christopher Jacot (Matt Oleander)! It does get really graphic warning but its a fun little series.

I saw the first 2 seasons of that show. Aaron Martin, who produced Degrassi Next Gen, produced that show too & I remember Lauren Collins (Paige) appearing in one episode in the 1st season.

This is an awesome video! Here’s like an answer to your confusion on the blacksmith dude. I lived in Williamsburg va for six years and if I remember correctly there were like actual blacksmiths in cw (colonial Williamsburg) and like my brother had a friend who got an apprenticeship or something (not for like blacksmithing) and started working there. So the idea of someone doing the black smith thing doesn’t seem too far fetched to me lol

Something about the forest fire made me spontaneously laugh out loud. I can't with Christmas in Maple Creek. Clint (I meant Carter, but I dislike him so much I forgot his name😂😂😂) is like all the worst parts of Craig. But Letters to Satan Claus is my on watch list. 😂
