A lot of people reject "old school." I listen to a lot of different types of music and honestly rock from the 1960s and 1970s was the best. No autotune. There was always commercial or teenybop stuff, sure. Good music, no matter what the genre will stand the test of time.

Hello brother I love your reaction videos I grew up listening to classic rock, you've done those already... I think your getting close to what I call Southern Rock. Bands like Molly Hatchet, .38 Special, Atlanta Rhythm Section.... but my all time favorite is The Outlaws! The got famous for a song called "ghost riders in the sky" but if could request you react to another song I would ask for "Green Grass and High Tides Forever" or a song called "Hurry Sundown" They did an album called Ladies in Waiting that I consider epic. I thank you for your positive attitude towards discovering new music. So on that note I'd love to see you react to some post punk / mid 80's new wave / early electronic music Ever heard of... English Beat? The Jam ? The Specials? or General Public? Thank you for what you do! You're cool with me Jamel !

Jamel, there was no competition - back in those days all bands had their own distinct sound, but it was all called rock. Paul Rogers has one of the most amazing voices of any genre, and still sounds great live. His first band, in the late 60's was called Free, and I know you know one of their songs! It's called "Alright Now", another called "Wishing Well" (with an incredible vocal by Paul) was also done while they were teenagers. Sadly their guitarist was a heroin addict, and Paul decided to form another band, along with Free's drummer, Simon Kirke. The bass player, and guitarist Mick Ralph's we're from King Crimson, and Mott the Hoople. One of the first super groups. When Led Zeppelin started their own record label, Bad Company was the first band they signed. There just aren't any bad bc songs. Ready for love Simple man (live) Live for the music Feel like making love........ There are too many to list - I love them all.

Zep created their own label(Swan Song) after being with Atlantic Records. Not sure if it was like a sub division or not. Bad Co has many great songs but this Album has many of the greats! A completely underrated song was Seagull! Love it! With a change up of lead singer in the eighties produced some more great songs! There's not a more romanticized character than a cowboy alone on the land with nothing but his grit and toughness to survive.

I know people already know this, but I have to say it aloud. It’s channels like this that are keeping the spirit of rock alive. With all the greats we’re losing (Bowie, Eddie, Pert, etc.) it is imperative that their influence is never forgotten. Keep discovering old artists. Appreciate their talents and their mark on the world of music. You’re all doing such a fantastic job at immortalizing these artists, even if you don’t realize it. Rock has always been about individuality of self and sound. Each heart touched by rock takes away something unique that contributes to their individuality. Keep up the great work.

I grew up listening to country music and remember hearing this group for the first time. I was in Naval technical school to become an avionics technician (1986) living in a barracks and my room mate was an ex sports bookie from Philly. I remember hearing faint music one night and I awoke in the pitch black room to see a cigarette cherry. I turned on my bed light and he was sitting there with a glass of scotch and a walkman. He handed me the headset and he was chilling to Bad Company. He also introduced me to Traffic. Great dude and tremendous pool hustler :-)

So you must have realized by now that all these amazing "classic rock" songs you've been reacting to all came out, in general, between like 1967-1978. As Homer Simpson once said - correctly - "Everyone knows rock attained perfection in 1974. It's a scientific fact." He's right.

I can't explain, but I really enjoy do watching the reactions to the songs of my youth (born 1960 - listening to Bad Company in 70's). I think I'm just glad to see that younger generations can enjoy the awesome music put out in that era. PS Bob Seger may be the only artist that sang about old time rock and roll while actually creating some old time rock and roll himself.

They came out circa 1974. I had the fortune of meeting Peter Grant (Led Zeppelin's manager) years ago. Zeppelin was preparing for an upcoming tour in a warehouse building that many groups used to practice in. Bad Co was in the same building. Peter went to get a coffee and overheard Bad company practicing through a door that wasn't fully closed (he overheard them playing Can't Get Enough). When they were done, Peter entered the room and was surprised to see it was Paul Rogers singing. Peter knew Paul from his days with the band Free. Peter then offered the band a contract under Swan Song Records (Led Zeppelin's newly formed record company, distributed through Atlantic Records). Bad Co then signed with Swan Song. For comparable bands, I know some will try to minimize them with comparisons to lesser southern rock bands of the same period. I never quite got that vibe. They had a roots, blues based sound that was more refined, yet they're recordings were rawer in production. And Paul Rogers is one of the greatest singers of all time. His voice really has an R&B vibe to it. It definitely made sense for them to be on Led Zeppelin's record label. I guess the closest Band you might compare them to of the era would be Foreigner, who were good, but in my humble opinion, Bad Co was better. Foreigner were English musicians as well, but with a very talented American lead singer (Lou Gramm, from Rochester , NY). Hope that helps. Peace

Actually it came out in 1974. It was recorded in late 1973 though. As far as competition I guess you could say bands like Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Foghat, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Nazareth, and other "hard rock" bands of the era. This was the pre-heavy metal era. Hard rock bands had more soulfulness in their playing. They were influenced by blues and soul music. Most music fans didn't really think about competition back in those days it was all part of the rock and roll catalog. Hard rock and folk rock and southern rock and country rock and jazz rock and soft rock and progressive rock. Later came new wave and punk and heavy metal. It's all part of what they now call "classic rock" But to us it was just "current rock"...

The album was released in 1974. The band came out of the ashes of the Free, when Paul Rodgers (vocals) and Simon Kirke (drums) formed Bad Company after Free split. The genre is rock, sub-genre blues-rock. Lend your ears to the title track of the 'Run With The Pack' album. Has a great ending laced with some nice piano.

1974. They were a "Supergroup" in that the four came from different successful bands and got together. Paul Rogers on vocals and Simon Kirke on drums came from a Power Blues Rock band named Free, Mick Ralphs guitarist for Mott the Hoople; and Bozz Burrell on bass from King Crimson. Great band and the first three albums are classic Rock from the mid 70s and less adventurous than things they had done before but VERY successful.

Yes! Paul Rodgers is one of THE FINEST rock vocals ever. In fact, he toured with Queen after Freddie Mercury passed away. Ready for Love and Feel Like Makin' Love were two more of the makeout songs from my high school years. I was lucky enough to see Bad Company back in 1980 or 1981 when I was in high school. My favorite is Shooting Star which was written to honor Jimi Hendrix, Janice Joplin and Jim Morrison who died way before their time because of booze & drugs. The album Bad Company (that this song is on) was released in 1974 and I remember that was the first album I ever purchased with my allowance money because my mom thought it was devil music (I was 10 years old and still have the original vinyl). They were on par with The Who, Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones (in my opinion) and selling out arenas wherever they played.
