Awesome video bro. Thanks for the info my truck does the same thing my is early 03. Same problem as yours. Hard start rough idle shaking rpm not jumping up and down step on the pedal rpm won't go higher then 1500. Thanks man same me the headache. Definitely buying me a new ficm. 👍💯💯💯

Fuel filters might be clogged mine did this in the dead of winter when it was about -20 out I think my fuel was gelling up tho..started letting it idle for bout 15 mins before I would run it and it fixed it self..

Pumping a HEUI system does absolutely nothing, the injectors fuel if it has the minimum desire of high pressure oil.

I had the same start just like your truck I thought it was the ICP? So I unplugged it and the truck fired right up ? Do you think it’s still ficm or ICP?

my truck is a early 2003 and its doing the same thing and ive had mine checked it was the ficm was 42 volts key on engine off with engine on was 40 and dropped also ive got a fuel pressure regulator leaking and weak fuel pump, mine runs like this til it warms up but when i give it fuel it misses and its weak but it still will get up to fast speed but u can tell it isnt right

mine will run when it warms up but it will miss some, now if u get a smell of fuel around ur truck esp if it comes thru the vents when def is on then u have a fuel pressure reg leaking, its easy fix i fixed mine already, that will cause it to get air in the fuel lines and it will miss too all u have to do is watch the video and get the fuel pressure reg upgrade kit at any parts store around 50 bucks or so and watch the video of regulator blue spring upgrade, i would recommend this if u havent done it already it will save ur injectors

stephen small first off Diesel Exhaust Fluid (i.e. DEF) didn't get put into production for the Ford Super Duty Trucks until 2011 for the 6.7L The 6.0 (or technical term Navistar-International VT365) emissions systems were simplistic and not so complex. It only consisted of the Exhaust Gas Return (i.e. EGR) Valve and Cooler.. The Catalytic Converter.. and the muffler on the exhaust portion. The DEF was created to eliminate Diesel Particulate Filter (i.e. DPF) clogging and internal failure. Much like what the 6.4L Super Duty's had problems with between 2008 to 2010. But if the exhaust emissions smells semi sweet and watered down it could be one of three things. The easiest common one is EGR Cooler failed (easy diagnoses is to pull the valve out.. if the soot looks like black toothpaste there's problem). Second blown head gasket (I've experienced similar situations with gas engines with a blown head gasket that usually you can just pull the dipstick and whatever's on it will just run off it like water. Not sure if the same applies for a diesel). Third one would blown fuel injector(s). I've read that can also lead to oil ending up in the cooling system. Because all eight of the G2 HEUI Fuel Injectors require the coolant and motor oil to cool and lubricate the injectors internal assembly. It's better to just upgrade the FiCM power supply to a BPD 53v or 58v to prolong the life of the injectors and increase mileage/horsepower/torque. EGR cooler go with a PPE or BPD unit. Don't do a delete. It'll do more harm to the engine than good.

Those glow plugs didn't cycle.. When you put the key in the ignition of these trucks and turn the key to the run position the plugs turn on and stay on for several minutes before turning off. That glow plug light is just a diagnostic light, the module checks for open circuits and short circuits then turns the light off. If there is a problem it stays on.

You have to know your fuel pressure you have to know your oil pressure you have to know your ficm voltage you have to read your codes to see if there's any faults or error codes you have to change your fuel and oil filters with genuine Motorcraft quite often changing the oil you have to check your fuel for bubbles to see if your o rings are leaking on your injectors you have to make sure that your tank pickup tube is not broken off you have to clean your EGR valve quite often you have to learn how to do this work yourself because unless your truck is working all the time and making you money hand over foot, you probably won't be able to afford to have Ford dealerships do the maintenance

Sold all of my cars and truck that had computers. Bought a. 1978. Xlt truck restored it. I spent. 5000 thousand dollers for everything. Motor trans new tires new wheel hubs. Breaks. New batterie. New alternator. New starter. New water pump. Basically every thing yes it. Uses gas but how ever over the long term I can do the work my self. For cheap saving. A lot more money over time. When I need to go somewhere I don’t have have to worry about spending thousand s of doller to get back home. Theas veheckle With computers are just a money racket. I see trucks and cars that are no more than two yers old. Seting a long interstate s. Broke down with the hood up mostly ford and Chevy

Wondering my much 07 ford 350 super duty runs for few mins then shuts off where ever it was can get over 30 mph that's 50 mph so it will need to sit for sometime 5 mins other times 10 mins then runs for few more mins and then stalls again so I have to repeat this over and over

@@chaino2618 I dropped the tank recently, I found that the pickup foot was destroyed. So I got a new sending unit, and changed all the fuel filters. That fixed my issue.

Old video and im sure you have it fixed by now. White smoke is coolant in the cylinders. Something wrong with the egr. And the trucks throttle is computer controlled so if it doesnt sense the motor warm enough it has an auto back down till it reaches desired temp.

Kyle Troutman that's black smoke that is unburnt fuel. white smoke it the antifreeze into the cylinders. from a bad head gasket if you have the egr delete. if not its more than likely to be the egr cooler.

Diesels can produce white smoke that isnt coolant depending on how much unburnt fuel is in the exhaust, and the ratio of unburnt fuel to burnt fuel. remember, diesel fuel is closer to oil than gas. also he posted an update and after replacing the ficm the truck runs great.

Ok first of all it's fuel injected, pumping the throttle(not gas pedal)will not do anything cause it just opens the throttle body for air and should not be done anyhow. Second of all, let's not say gas pedal when you have a dsl.

The "throttle body" is not a throttle body to begin with.. It was to aid in pulling egr gases in from the egr cooler, rather than just pulling air from the intake tube. It was later deemed useless and was taken out of the newer trucks. So again it is NOT a throttle body, it was to aid in EGR flow, not throttle. The only way the truck gets more throttle is with more fuel, from the injectors. Diesels do not have throttle bodies, they have no air restriction (other than that stupid plate for early 6.0's EGR flow), throttle bodies restrict airflow. As a result diesels also create no vacuum, requiring a vacuum pump for items that require vacuum. Ford opted to use hydroboost for power brakes however. Anything other questions before you start calling me a moron? I think what I said still stands.

You don't have to bullet proof any powerstroke to get reliability. Mine is stock and sits at 241k, 06 f350 King Ranch. Up grade fa yory parts with factory parts and zero issues. Yes it pulls a skidsteer....

I have a 06 f350 identical to the one is this video and it’s all stock with a 2006 edge tuner, I’ve put over 6,000 miles on it in the past 3 months from driving state to state and I’ve had 0 issue. Bullet proofing is for dummies who are scared and don’t know anything about these diesels or just being a straight dumbass with the truck.
