Hello, can you tell me if I replace all bad diesel injectors with new, in my engine (Ford Focus 1.6 tdci), will it already improve obvious weak power I feel every day, or does't- perhaps if turbine pump is also demaged (during driving with bad injectors maybe). Does setting new injectors with old pump is good solution with no worries in future? Thanks

Question my Uncle who is a mechanic told me my fuel injector has a leak, inside the car it smells of diesel, under the hood it sounds like a ticking noise also smoke under the hood and a lot of smoke coming from the exhaust. Are these symptoms not showing something worse? No check engine showing

Just bought a 2013 Mazda cx5 and the oil smells like fuel but only once did it have rough idle at start up and only rough when in park and reving it but when driving it feels fine.. would this be a bad fuel injectors? .. I also have a check engine light for o2 sensor or manifold I think that’s what it was or it’s my exhaust leak that has 4 little holes ..

What's the logic behind clogged fuel injectors decreasing fuel economy? Shouldn't it save fuel instead, since less fuel is being injected to the engine because of the clog?

Your engine has to work harder for that small combustion and will suffer depreciation fast if you keep running the engine with clogged injectors. When the damage has been made, the engine will need even more gasoline to create the combustion that is required, permanently ruining your fuel economy.

Your cat converter might be plugged does your exhaust smell terrible almost fishy smell or rotten eggs? No exhaust flow means car no go

I have an 07 Avalon and it recently started to have an issue where, if I floor it, it will take move then have a brief 2-3 seconds of lack of power then take off. The oil currently used is the semi synthetic grade. Not sure why this started to happen. I plan to get the spark plugs changed soon even though it may not yet be needed but it is a costly job being that I don't have the tools needed to do this myself.

@@maphyous228 No I never scanned it because no errors came on the dash so I thought it wouldn’t give any codes. Do vehicles throw codes even when nothing is listed on the dash?

@@adrianb1655 No, if there is a code it will show up on the dash. Sometimes you can force a code by driving the car aggressively.

Looking for advice on an 04 civic sedan manual transmission. How do I know if its the filter, pump, or fuel injectors? I checked the fuses. Not sure if its the relay. It just started idling extremely rough and stalling. Won't rev past 2000 rpm, no power. Feels like its starved of fuel. I got rear ended hard a few weeks ago. I don't know if its related. No check engine light. Could it be fuel pressure regulator? Just checked. The relay is working, the fuel pump is coming on. I unhooked the line, there's fuel pressure. I didn't measure the pressure just visually gas spurts out with pressure when I disconnect the line. Thinking of cleaning the MAF sensor and checking the coil packs. No check engine light. Anyone have an idea? Now I'm thinking its the injectors...

My 97 Kia sportage will start and run fine but after parking it and turning it off it has to completely cool down before I drive it again or it will continually misfire on one or two cylinders. They wont fire at all till cooled completely down.

I've got problem with my bakkie colt and 2litre petrol the fuel injector is leaking and it shows the engine light it doesn't have power it misfiring rough idle but when am blocking the return fuel pipes it have power and the fuel on enjectrs its leaking????

I'm hoping this is what all is going wrong with my 08 Chrysler Town & Country. The engine completely stopped one night, and while it turns over, it only runs for a second or two. Things I noticed leading up to that, pinging (thought it was knocking), the aforementioned rough idle and severe mileage loss. The first few times I got it started back up (before it shut off again) it backfired multiple times and sounded like a lawnmower before it shut back off. I feel like it's definitely fuel related since I had another car sound like that once, when the fuel pump went out. Is the lawnmower sound common with bad fuel injectors?

Very nice vid i got a 2012 sierra 5.3 just replaced the cats and full dual exhaust ive went through 3 rear down stream oxygen sensors new ones are fine till i drive it awhile then the get all black soot on them may be a clogged injector

@@eunicenelson812 the problem you've described I have seen before. In my case there was one broken rocker arm on an intake valve. With the one intake valve not opening the fuel would simply fill the intake runner. This was on a simple LS engine but would apply to all multiport engines.

In high RPM you don’t recognize the misfire. Check spark on each cylinder (Spark gun) and check ohm resistance of all injectors

Check the camshaft and crankshaft positioning sensors.

What year, make, motor in the vehicle with cylinder amount. Everyone can give you a general idea but it's a crap shoot without this info. Do you have a check engine light on? There are a huge amount of things that can cause bad idol. Saw one where a dandelion seed, the little parashoot things, and it got on the hot lead of the mass air flow sensor screwing up the fuel reading.

I have a 93 crown Victoria and I get average 13.9 mpg I get white smoke out of my exhaust sometimes, and I feel a slight loss of power. When I step on the gas a lot my check engine light comes on for a few seconds then turns off.

White smoke out the pipe usually means coolant is going in the combustion chamber. 9 times out of ten, headgasket

My car is so weird. On the freeway at around 4000rpm it sometimes sits and won’t shift and I have to let go of the gas and try to ease past it. It also died today and would start then immediately die. I went back 30 minutes later and it started up and drove home. It’s always had a rough idle cus I need engine mounts so I don’t know if it’s good enough testing

Everytime i put my truck into reverse i kinda have to contine pressing the gas for it not to stall out. It does shake and sounds rough idle.

have a holly 2245 carb on my 1974 Dodge 300 have to pump a lot in the morning to start.. Pump 4 to 5 times turn over and then 4 more to get it to start.. Any ideas

Elaborate, is it doing it in the driveway or as you first start driving it? I assume you got a GM v6? Known for intake manifold leaks. When was the last time it was tuned up oil change, air filter intake for the air cleaned. Dirty sensors can do this. Once it's warmed up does it go away or at stop lights does it do it??

I have the miss code on cylinder 1 and 3. Switch it off and restart no record of a code to be found. Sometimes difficult to start. I can get it to fault at about 1500 rpm in a high gear. But even when increasing speed/rpm from there it never recovers until the engine is stopped and restarted. Why does the miss remain? Is the ecu cutting power to the "faulty" injectors until the engine is stopped and restarted. (Might not be injectors but they are next to check/clean, already changed plugs and swapped coil packs round but miss still always cylinder 1 and 3)

@@idksomeguythatlikesmemeshd5215 I have since swapped injector 1 with 2 and 3 with 4. But the miss remains on cylinder 1 and 3. Struggling to get any info from internet. Like limp home mode? How does it manifest itself, does/is it created by a miss on cylinder 1 and 3, i don't know yet. I have/can drive the car without the engine management light coming on if I keep the rpm above 1500. It's still a work in progress, I don't like mysteries but ultimately it might have to go to suzuki for repair.

No just lived with it. Well that was until today. Traded it in only 3hours ago. I have learned something though. A missfire is very bad and it will not pass an MOT due to high emissions. When checked out because of the failure it has no compression on cylinder 3. So burnt valves or rings and thousands £££ to investigate further. I have cut my loses. My advice is get a misfire diagnosed and sorted quickly.

Quick question as you said in the video bad fuel injectors can cause a misfire. I’m having that problem, Along with a rough idle and drop in mileage. I also smell gasoline when I turn my car on in park. My question is can fuel injectors cause a misfire in only one cylinder? For example I have code for a misfire in cylinder six p0306. I know the code for a random misfire is p0300. Can bad fuel injectors cause a single cylinder to misfire like my p0306 or does it only cause the random misfire code p0300? If anybody in the comments can help out that would be great?

@@abdullahcheema7061 they do cause misfires but for my car I haven’t checked only cause there is a multitude of issues that I have and they cost to much money to look at my self or have someone check out. But in short bad fuel injectors do cause misfires

@@cainabelcarrizales6386 my car ended up breaking down, I just didn’t feel like fixing it but yes Bad Fuel Injectirs can cause isolated miss fires. A bad fuel injector can cause a single cylinder to miss fire. If you smell gasoline and you have a misfire code for a specific cylinder, There’s a 90 percent chance it’s because of your fuel injector. Hope this helps

My problem is at startup. It acts like it's not getting the fuel it needs at start-up and white smoke is coming out the tailpipe. I've used injector cleaner and it took care of it till now. I'll use that again till I save to get a complete injector cleaning.

White smoke from your exhaust (if it happens continuously after starting the vehicle) is usually coolant being burned within the engine. Which usually means a head gasket issue.

@Jay Yoyo depends on if you have any issues, like overheating or low coolant levels. Otherwise it could just be steam being burned off, humidity/weather would/could also play a part. But yes it could still be that coolant is getting into the engine and being burned.

@Jay Yoyo so normally you shouldn’t have to refill coolant. A flawless cooling system won’t require you to top it off. But if it’s only a little annually it’s most likely just a small leak.

@Jay Yoyo cold stalling is completely different. Coolant levels or leaking coolant won’t affect your cars starting ability. Cold start stalling could be the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel injectors, bad battery, bad battery leads, bad alternator; etc. If it’s cold starting that needs to be diagnosed by a mechanic. Making sure you have a good battery and alternator is an good start tho, usually done free at auto zone or the like.

@Jay Yoyo again you’d have to take it to a mechanic to get a proper diagnosis. I could list off potential causes all day, but really that’s all just speculation. Something like that can only be determined in person, with a proper in depth diagnosis; which unfortunately are kinda costly.

My Mazda 3 2015 has had some of these symptoms for the last year. Low mileage, bouncing idle when in drive and at a red light or something, misfiring when I start it usually takes 2 to 3 attempts. Also check engine light on and off. My mechanic said code was related to mass air sensor. He replaced the sensor but didn't help with any symptoms. Got a new battery, so that's not the problem. Mechanics here in NY are very lazy. I'm at a loss what to do.

@@MikesCarburetor thanks. i actually took it into my new mechanic a few days ago for body work. he's also looking at this problem. he says so far that since the engine does crank and start there is air, fuel and compression, although he did say one of the air sensors was the wrong one a prior mechanic had installed. he seems to think faulty starts might be from the computer? i mentioned the fuel injectors and he also thinks that could be it but seems to lean towards the computer. i had actually put in stp prior to taking it into the new mechanic. but haven't had a chance to drive it yet.

It's your throttle position sensor (TPS) sensor, bouncing idle was the biggest clue

@@oceanpacific3841 but would that also be the reason the car starts cold but when warm will crank but won't turn over. it takes usually 2 or 3 attempts once the car is warm throughout the day.

I have a 2018 Chevy Silverado and the check engine light is flashing I checked the code and it says low voltage fuel injector. Engine is running rough as well.

Hey on my 1990 Nissan d21 when I crank it to turn it on I hear this knocking and and it keeps cranking so after about 4 cranks it turns on but with this rough idle and white smoke shoots out the exhaust and it smells like gas but after a minute or so it idles nice and runs perfectly fine it’s just the starting it up we’re I have this problem. HELP ANYONE??

I'm having a similar issue with my 06 chevy silverado (excluding the knocking). I know that my issue is leaking fuel injectors; this causes residual gas to burn when you start your vehicle and creates that smoke

2013 chevy Silverado 1500 5.3, struggles to start every morning. Sounds like it kills then suddenly starts at a high idle. Once the engine is warm I have no trouble starting it the rest of the day unless it sits about 8-12 hours without being started . I use marvel mystery oil in my regular fuel ups and sea foam In fuel at oil changes

I had been dumping several $$$ into the truck over the last year so I traded it in while trade in values are good and was able to get a brand new GMC Canyon for $20k after trade in. Sucks having a note but with the money I’m saving on fuel and not buying parts every month it works out lol

Any mechanics here? I have a volvo s60 2001 that was standing still with the same gasoline for almost 3 years. Fuel pump went bad and the engine wouldn't start. So the fuel pump was replaced. Now the engine turns on but the engine runs very rough and eventually it wont accelerate and turn off. Is it clogged inejctors? 🤔

My dodge is doing this it will shut off not lose power but shuts off engine wise when I am slowing down and jerks and lower rpm when I’m driving at a steady speed did you figure out what’s causing it no check engine light either

I have these occasional hard start/long crank on a warm engine but the car will always start when I tap the gas pedal. I am being told it is either the fuel injectors or the fuel pump. Is there anyway to find out which one it is specifically?

@@MikesCarburetor it’s a Mercedes from 2010 so I don’t think it has any rail for me to check. I bought a high tech computer for the car and I checked the pressure that way and it gave a standard pressure rating. But I have a fail on fuel system bank 1 and 2. Does this mean it’s fuel pump related?

Your fuel filter might be choking flow , if it's easy to change, maybe do that to eliminate a suspect

It ended up being the starter which is what I suspected, every mechanic told me it cannot be so I ordered one off Amazon and paid someone to put it in a problem solved.

My 2010 ranger had to sit for 4 weeks while I replaced a cracked thermostat housing, now the truck seems a bit down on power & fuel economy is worse, I'm wondering if sitting still allowed my injectors to get dirty . I'm going to.put in some Marvel mystery oil., I change my fuel filter every 25,000 miles, it's cheap.& Easy to do

Here is my timeline. My 4.3 silverado truck was running bad then stopped. I changed fuel filter. wasnt the problem spent 400 on a fuel pump. wasnt the problem, changed plugs wasnt the problem, changed mass air filter wast the problem, Finally tried fuel injectors on was broke. I installed autozone spider injectors. It ran like a brand new truck. All of a sudden one morning it refused to start. I added gas, and it started, and now it wont work. Do you have an idea whats wrong? I spent over 1000, and its not drivable.

@@tseawell90 Yes I suspect that my heater coil dripped water on my distributor cap, and killed it. I changed the cap, and it ran for a while, then my battery died from it sitting up. I blame the no good parts from autozone. they keep a person coming back.

2013Ford Fiesta. It gets fuel, spark, timing is on, fuses and relays are good. What else could be the issue? It wants to start but will not start. :(

Tap the gas tank or kick it, I had a 2014 fiesta until someone killed it hitting me from behind, I'm ok very safe car, but it had the same issue, and eventually needed spark plugs changed, until it's unfortunate death, I've had more power out my 2012 fiat 500 then the fiesta sadly.

@@MikesCarburetor Jumped timing. New belt new tensioner and pulleys. New crankshaft sensor new plugs wires and airflow sensor. Putting it together as we type LOL. Thank u all.

One thing people over look with fords is a vacuum leak from the pcv tube. Locate the pcv then follow the tube connected to it around the back to the intake. Check to see if the 90 degree piece at the end of the tube that goes into the intake for a hole or collapsed. They're know for that which would cause random multiple misfire and possible stalling. The 90 degree elbow is a dealer part for around 40 bucks. I've fixed a lot from that simple issue.

@@peggysmith8467 thanks for bringing up this issue. I own a towncar and can't seem to figure out what my issue is. I changed my fuel filter, I change my air filter, and I even cleaned my Mass Airflow sensor. My personal mechanic told me that my coil pack and injectors need to be replaced but it could be what you said in addition to those two things. I mean being that Lincoln is made by Ford

Every shop I went too they keep saying spark plug or coil packs why do I get interrogated when I ask to replace them so I'm doing them my self.

Yes I did the same thing, but my 2007 rav4 has unkown problem, mechanics can't figure it out and I can't either, I think I have to replace my fuel injectors but idk. They don't wanna point you in the right direction , because they don't want you to succeed, me and my cousin have gotten this suv to run better , and figured out some oil is leaking into my coils, but once that truck heats up it has problems. I give credit to Toyota it runs no matter what just gotta push harder on the gas.

My 2018 Camaro 6.2 gets a misfire on cylinder 8 from scanner. Only happens at wide open throttle at upper RPMs and light goes off after 30 seconds. What is the problem?

It could be a bad spark plug or coil. The most common reason your cylinder is misfiring.

I have this same exact problem with my 2018 Camaro 2.0T, It happened right after I put my hybrid turbo on, it starts, idles, and drives perfectly fine until I get into wide open throttle. When I get into WOT it makes a sputtering noise and stabilitrak and engine light comes on for a bit then turns off then drives fine again... my tuner said it's either bad coils, plugs, injectors, or in worst case, a slight crack in the piston that only leaks when under heavy throttle. Have you figured out the problem on yours? I already ordered new plugs, coils and injectors just in case any or all of those are the problem

Try good injector cleaners and put some high grade fuel try couple times ... also put decent spark plugs so you eliminate that..drive it hard a bit when you get a chance..should make a difference

Mechanics said nothing wrong with it but once it heats up, it has trouble moving fast or keeping up, I'm sure my catalytic converter is going out asked a muffler shop guy and he said it is the cat, but he said to wait for the problem to get worse, like not starting up, it starts longer then normal, but Toyotas run forever . I have to push lower on the gas pedal, tougher then usual to get moving after 40 minutes of driving, the problem dosent show up in shorter times , highway is not well but I did make it over the harbor bridge and back , it started jumping rpms up and down.

@@beekoolasf9400 I found my issue it was a hole in my valve cover touchinh the spark plug with oil causing a misfire no codes it was defiantly effecting my computer (ecu) and I used cataclean and my cat blew alot of gunk outta the exhaust and ran really well after I did this and cleaned my spark plug up so I ordered that valve-cover and gonna get it put on soon. But whata a tough toyota though still ran and drove with minor problems.

My car at one point ran E85 ethanol fuel it’s very dirty fuel and my fuel injectors got clogged I found out by using my uncles injectors from his Honda

@@MikesCarburetor well, the problem I’m facing is I’m losing fuel pressure somewhere and I have to cycle my key a few times for my car to start. When we put the new injectors in, the idle was rough, and it ran like shit. Even threw me the cylinder 3 and 4 misfire codes. When we put the old ones back in, those problems went away, but I still gotta cycle it.
