On this episode of BKOR Builds the Busted Knuckle Off Road Bad Influence Rock Bouncer build comes to life. We get the parts back from powdercoating, assemble the rock bouncing buggy, Dyno it, and Shock Tune with the owner Matt Schuessler. This is one of the baddest rock bouncers to ever come out of our shop. It features an LSX454 engine force fed by a 4.5 Whipple Supercharger making around 1200hp currently and capable of more. It is backed by a Powerglide transmission and Straight Drive Case. Custom built Dana 80 steering axles handle the abuse with Radflo shocks keeping it all in control. All in all this Matt Schuessler Rock Bouncer build is ready to get Rowdy and win some races.
We couldn't be more happy with how this supercharged rock bouncer turned out. The fit and finish is second to none. Myself and Jake Burkey are blessed to have a group of talented folks in the shop that work hard to make sure our clients love their off road dream machines. that would just make the HP even lower. It's a beast. I'd say it's one of the most powerful bouncers in the circuit and you will see that on the race videos coming soon.

Matt & Jake what a wicked build that blue pops like a 💎. Can’t wait till the 1st round in my local stomping grounds at BP aka: Northwest OHV Park. Love watching the 1st round of the SRRS series their being able too drive down past the pavilion and watch. I raced the Revlimter this year and did horrible. Thanks for all the hardwork everyone put in. *Costs over 100k Electric Barbie jeeps racing downhill are IMO the only thing that should be drive minus the battery Music is legit and legal, sad haters will try anything too throw you under the bus.* And yes I liked my own comment

Have you ever considered putting a big block motor with a blower on it in one of your buggies. A big block with the most horsepower comes from a drag boat. They usually have about 1500 horsepower

That's exactly correct, the mass acceleration style of dynamometer is really sensitive to driveline losses due to tire weight and such. An Eddy current Dyno will better look over the losses from driveline/tire weight, but there's nothing you can really do about the gear losses from high ratio, especially R&P type gears.

Have you ever considered putting a big block motor with a blower on it in one of your buggies. If you weren't the most horsepower there is someone's from drag speed boats that carry about 1500 horsepower with them. You did a really good job on this build too. Chassis stays pretty neutral on the dyno, looks like a fairly neutral anti-squat number. Any thoughts on putting a orbital with less turns to lock in? Seemed like he was really chasing that wheel back and forth.

So if understand the dyno right you can have 1500 hp at the crank but deliver a lot less to the wheel so what happens after the dyno and you reconnect the front drive? How much does that take away from the wheel hp?

We would have to put it on an all wheel drive dyno to find out. It's really not about getting the high numbers it is about tuning the engine to run it's best when racing

Most Dynos typically measure in wheel hp not crank hp. If you put it on an engine dyno, it would be right around the mark they’re saying it is, why it only says like 500 is because of drivetrain loss, like they explained which is around 50-60% if not more.

we want to tune the engine for the tires he will run when racing. The dyno doesn't actually hurt the tires. It is actually a great way to break them in from new.

So why in the world don't you run a set of "dyno tires"? Not just to save your tires but it seems like you'd get more consistency out of the dyno with a more street oriented tire?

they are tuning the engine for these tires, we aren't trying to get the highest numbers.

They are unbelievable to drive. It's like an overgrown RZR that doesn't break
