BAD Light? Upgrade Headlights To LED! Land Rover Discovery 4 / LR4

Hey everyone! In this episode I will show you how easy it is to upgrade your halogen headlight H7 bulbs to LED bulbs on your Land Rover Discovery 4 / LR4. In the last video I showed you how the the H7 Nightbreaker Laser from Osram work as high beam bulb. And as I said in the last video, the color of the bulbs is yellow and not white as suggested, so I decided to upgrade the high beam bulbs in my headlights to Philips H7 LED's. One of the other reasons why I chose the Philips Ultinon Pro6000 is the extended warranty of 3 years after registration.

@@SavoyPrimeable They are stainless steel and homemade. I need to replace the H8 lamps on the Discovery anyway, then I can give you the dimensions etc if you are interested. Maybe it could also be a video about the lamps and the brackets ;)

I have to change my bulbs too but I have a bull bar installed. So to remove my grille is really tight.but I will persevere.

Hey. Funktioniert das Abbiegelicht noch wenn ich diese Nebelscheinwerfer von Amazon einbaue die du verlinkt hast?

Es sollte normalerweise schon funktionieren, da die Scheinwerfer ja nur ein- oder ausgeschaltet werden wen der Blinker gesetzt wird oder die Lenkung eingeschlagen werden. Ab dem Bj 2012 aber wurde diese Funktion in den Hauptscheinwerfer verlegt wenn ich nicht irre. Denn die Hauptscheinwerfer haben ab 2012 die H8 Cornerlights integriert, also zusätzlich zu den adaptiven Scheinwerfer.

Hi Craig Hogg! Vielen Dank, ich versuche mich tagtäglich zu verbessern! Dein Deutsch ist aber auch super 👍 Die Scheinwerfer sind Vision-X LED TPX910. (Link: amzn.to/3Jwzw3J oder www.nakatanenga.de/beleuchtung-nach-rubrik/fernscheinwerfer/1891/vision-x-led-fernscheinwerfer-mit-e-pruefzeichen ) Den passenden Kabelsatz mit Stromstossrelais habe ich bei Nakatanenga gekauft. Dieser passt optisch perfekt zum Armaturenbrett des Discovery's. (Link: www.nakatanenga.de/beleuchtung-nach-rubrik/zubehoer/5197/kabelsatz-fernscheinwerfer )

Thank you for your reply. One more, last question: Where I can get a certificate that they are legal in Germany (link?) Next month we plan to go to EU, Germany, to Bad Kissingen for 4x4 Fair.

Hey Greg T! It should be downloadable on the Philips website I guess. But normally the box with the LED’s will come with a certificate for Germany.

Hi Peter from Italy interesting video i have disco 2012 maby like your i like to replace the original lampe with led and I was wondering if some warning lights might come on ? Thanks

Hey, no, there are no warnings on your dashboard. The only warnings you get are when you check your car with the IID tool. Then there's a "short curciut" message for your high beams. But you can ignore that because it works really well. I've been using the LED's for 2 years and never had a problem with them! Can really recommend them! Best regards, Peter

Hi Please I didn't find the compatibility of this LED lamp for LR 4 on the Philips website. Once installed, do any error lights come on? Thnks

Did you do the fixings for halogens yourself or can you buy one somewhere?

Hey Tomasz K.! No, I made the brackets for the additional headlights myself from stainless steel. I will make a video of them and post the dimensions. Then you can make them yourself or have them made.

Hallo Peter. Laut Philips Fahrzeugliste dürften die H7 nicht für den Disco zugelassen sein. Falls doch sende mir doch bitte die Bescheinigung. Und ja ich weiß das ich etwas spät dran bin für diesen Beitrag.

Hallo Walter, nein momentan gibt es leider von keinem Hersteller für den D3/D4 zugelassene LEDs mehr. Aber selbst wenn sie in Deutschland und Österreich zugelassen sind, ist die Verwendung in den meisten Europäischen Ländern nicht erlaubt. Bei billig China LEDs sehe ich das durchaus ein, aber bei renommierten Herstellern verstehe ich das nicht ganz. Zumal es ja eine allgemeine Verbesserung der Sicherheit ist.
