Worst thing to do when you feel bad is telling yourself “Everything is fine yet I feel bad. What’s wrong with me? People have much worse struggles yet I’m here being sad for stupid reasons. I’m weak.” Denying the saddnes or stress makes it worst(for most people).

@Ikipool53 жыл бұрын
@@anywitchway3866 I mean, of course it doesn't help me telling myself "I'm weak" or "I'm here being sad for stupid reasons". What, sometimes, helps me is the fact of recognizing how privileged I am in a lot of aspects, like, some people do have waaay more struggles than I do, and that doesn't mean my reasons are less valid, but it helps me going on sometimes. This is a very sensitive topic and I don't want to get misunderstood, because there're probably gonna be people who that doesn't work for them. Don't deny your sadness, never!

And also I recommend having a mental health mini routine when you're feeling anxious, instead of immediately brushing it off and going back to what you were doing. (I did that in university and it over time it was horrible. Have a deck of cards, maybe a little drawing, a smell, meditation, something to play with, etc, to focus on.) My therapist once said that if it is something you can immediately solve, well then do it. if not, don't worry about it because it is not productive and detrimental to your health. Just have to let go and live in the way you know how and things will work themselves out. :)

Thank you so much Ruby to talk about this and show people that even those whose lifes look perfect on first glance have bad days and struggle sometimes (like we all do). I actually had the problem that a girl in school bullied me when I was 16/17 because she envied me for having a pretty good life (good grades without studying hard, few good friends, functioning loving family, getting along with siblings well). In reality I found out by myself that my dad was suffering from depression and nearly cried every night because I feared that he might be suicidal (which he luckily wasn’t but I was to feared to actually speak with somebody about it)
@katieelisabeth60363 жыл бұрын
You are completely not alone in how you feel, I just started my 4th year at University and have also struggled a lot moving back during the pandemic. I have the same anxious hypothetical thoughts like 'what if I get covid and bring it back to my family' and especially at work as I work part time in a care home so I think 'what if I bring covid into work'. These thoughts really weigh on my shoulders, and the lack of control over what other people i.e. housemates are doing, also adds to the equation. What has helped me over the last day or so, however, is when I spoke to my CBT therapist I guess you can say about it, and she made me realise that even though to me these are very real worries that I perceive as rational, they are in-fact hypothetical situations that thinking about does not do anything good or help anything. You can take the necessary precautions, but its not feasible to micro manage your life to avoid a situation that might not happen in the first place. Obviously these things are much easier said than done to rationalise, especially when anxiety brain has a mind of its own haha. I hope you just know that you are not alone in feeling this and as you said, its okay not to be okay sometimes!

I am feeling the exact same way about coronavirus!! I had to fly home during the peak in April from Australia and was so scared I would pass it. However I’ve found by going out (risk free activities like walks, seeing people from afar, going into a few shops)ive slowly built up my confidence again. The truth is the virus is very real and dangerous however the media is a big factor in scaring us and causing anxiety. I would suggest you have breaks from the news and know that soon this will all be over and we will appreciate normality so much more. Really hope your okay ruby, you’ve done so well to even go back to university!!

yes, the media really bother me, imagine they would report on a daily basis what happened to people because of car accidents, and how many people died because of cars, and even show videos of those people.. of course it would get a lot more terrifying to get in a car.. there are so many scary things in life, and of course being cautious helps, but horrifying and guilt-tripping people who easily get anxious like that all of the time is really crude and calculated, and truly will end up making more people sick because of anxiety and lack of activity and vitamine D deficiency (which is something most ppl who die of covid 19 have)

She was a very cheerful and enthusiastic student before the lockdown. I could not imagine what happened to her.
