Really appreciate your channel, Doug. Real world poker and insight into the 1/3 grind life. You're a good player, so don't let the Lodge experience last year put you off moving up stakes. The Lodge wasn't your thing, you took a chance and that's fair enough.

I see many people mentioning you are "only" playing 1-3. I would just point out that Capitol Casino 1-3 plays higher than my local 1-3. Locally, the buy in is capped at $500. When Doug mentions someone with a buy in of $1500, I think this is a higher level of play than the label 1-3 would indicate.

Quite a lot of sharp play this week! Even Zeus must be pleased. "I don't have a pair... but now I have a flush" is one of my favorite things. No play offers bigger rewards than getting it in bad. Shame about February poker, good thing it's just a piece of your life. Here's to a banger of a March!

I have a question. How do you feel about $5 blind cap games? For instance like a 2/5 $500 cap game compared to like 1/3 $400 or $500 cap game?
@dougmccuskerpoker5 ай бұрын
I prefer deeper stacks, smaller cap games play very differently. Deeper games you can play more hands and make more plays. Inexperienced players are probably better off in small cap games.

Hey Doug do you invest in precious metals? I have bought some silver but don't know that much about it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
@dougmccuskerpoker4 ай бұрын
of course I don't give financial advice, I will just say what I do. I feel that BTC is entering a very bullish time with the halving and the ETFs. All Fiat currencies devalue over time whether its the $ or any other currency. I invest as though this trend will continue and therefor real assets like real estate, gold, silver and BTC will appreciate. BTC is gaining mass adoption and I feel will out perform all assets for the next 18 months. BTC is very volatile so I am careful and aware of the risks.

@@dougmccuskerpoker OK so essentially that was a token with the Bitcoin logo stamped on it. I own some cyber currency through a Grayscale EFT, specifically Etherium. Made a good deal of money between December 2020 and May 2021 and sold out enough to return my initial investment 3 times over, kept the rest. Recently of course it started another swift leg up. I’m keeping what I have forever as I see no reason not to own it.

Doug. Bitcoin is not an investment it is a speculation. As a CPA, and former Registered Investment Advisor I am going to take umbrage with your bitcoin representation. I enjoy your vlog and suggest you stick to Poker. Seriously.
@dougmccuskerpoker4 ай бұрын
I understand your hesitance to consider it an investment. I too have a money management background and felt the same when I first learned about BTC. I have changed my opinion because of the vast amount of research I have done. I won't try to convince you, I just suggest looking at it with an open mind. Larry Fink changed his mind and he is a pretty smart guy.

Doug: If people want to buy and sell Bitcoin or other crypto currencies that is their business or yours. I have done so. We have offered crypto payroll as well though after the last crash those operators dried up. With luck and timing, you can make a lot of money. You can do the same trading other fiat currencies a including the dollar. But my my definition, and that is where I took umbrage, it is not an investment. An investment is an asset or item acquired with the goal of generating income or appreciation. In my mind that does not include commodity speculation which is what bitcoin/crypto trading is. I have bought and sold commodities in business to hedge things but never as speculation. Commodity trading is a good way to make a small fortune out of a large one. Good luck though in your trading.
