I usually start with 30 buy ins not sure if it’s enough. But when I come across a downswing of 20 buys ins loss then I will go look for a side job to build the bankroll back whereas if my bankroll go upswing to certain points then I will go higher stake for example 3 5 game with 1000 buy in max once I reach 30k mark I will go up stake back down if downswing
@dougmccuskerpoker2 күн бұрын
@@jasonsitu5287 I would use my bankroll management as a rough guide. Everyone is different, some can still play well when on a downswing. My personal belief is to be over rolled so I never have to be concerned with the swings. Hope you keep moving up in stakes!

First hand you have to reason villain is calling raise and cbet with nut flush draw giving you only 3 outs to hit full house on river. You gotta let that one go. The J♧8♧ hand, you gotta charge the K♧ on turn instead of giving him a free card. If he doesn't have a ♧, you still gotta bet to get valuefrom his 2 pairs and sets. No more value if another ♧ hits river and he has none. I'm sure you already thought of all this! Nice comeback. After having 6 sets flopped on me when I had top pair, over pair, and trips in summer poker league busting out in 2 hours and 15 minutes, I drove to Ameristar in Vicksburg afterwards in frustration. Bought in for $380 and left with $1,640. Glad my run bad is over. Hope it continues!

Similar to you, one of my 2024 poker goals was 3 bet more in position. Similar to you, I'm not doing well at achieving this. But now I'm thinking the problem is this was a poor goal to choose. I still will rarely 3 bet w/marginal holdings (marginal 3 bet holdings) but wonder if this is overrated, especially at the lower stakes. Your thoughts? Also if it was year end right now would you now include it in your Poker Goals for 2025? Thanks

It’s a tough goal for sure. Not only do you have to pick the right time, but also the right opponents to raise lighter. 3 betting the wrong player is getting close to just punting.

10:25 (JJ) wow! Excellent play! . Where did +1 make a mistake? I'd say multyway: M1: Rather small C-bet on flop into 3 opponents with overpair. M2: He never answered Q (on flop b4 he 3-bet) 1) What has he raised me with? (honestly, flop raise did not make any sense. So, tough one to answer!). If answer was: "A set"/"2 pairs", then why 3bet?? No 3bet. Fold! on Turn: M3: Since flop 3-bet, then do not take a foot off the gas! (on bricky turn). M4: Would a set played this way? Answer to this one would've made him c-bet turn. End of story, then.
@pot_kivach1608 күн бұрын
13:21 the "glimpse" of your opponent at other end of table is questionable. R1: he played top triple slow (??) Into 2 opponents both flop and turn. This is below standard play. (That's what gave you/his opponent idea to go by bluff). R2: Then, he failed to properly read his opponent action (no FH would raised this much! Period). This, he put you on pocket (99/88) or AK and that's his ground for fold. 5x raise is usually "Big bark - small dog" scenario. If you wanted both of them out, then that's how you'd played it. A FH or AK would not kill a golden goose. Once he started talking about "number of combos" and "range of hands" that he loses to, that tells me his (hands) reading needs improvement. A stronger player would've called your bet there...and even maybe shoved. (my 2 cents).

I found it a very useful to pinpoint those who like to limp with AQ/AK/AJ (17:48) and monitor them while in the hand. It is of a great benefit both ways: to save money by not calling/bluffing their (limping) range, and to exploit them heavily when I hit my hand.
