Im severe ADHD and my boyfriend is autistic and we literally *only* make eye contact with each other cuz we're super close. I hate eyes. Theyre awful. Like. Eye contact makes me feel panicked.

@@malchickoleander yeah I know some autistic people who eye contact causes physical pain for. For me personally it just makes it impossible to register what the person is saying and I feel slightly uncomfortable, and I'm sure I make the other person uncomfortable by flitting back and forth between each eye and their lips in hopes I can figure out what they're saying lmao, so it's just best if I look elsewhere. It just ain't worth it to uphold made up social standards for any of us

Jarvis’ advice to teens at the end is actually really good, tho. Like yeah, don’t be worried about “wasting” your time as a teen. Chances are it’s not a waste and you will treasure that time you spent doing whatever you wanted later in life.

I'm 36, and I don't regret wasting my teen years on the things I did. My twenties, on the other hand 😳 Edit: I do wish I had had money and opportunity to learn things I was interested in, that I thought I could always learn as an adult, like playing the guitar or driving. Also probably, in hindsight, should have talked to a doctor about the weird episodes I was having, rather than not telling people and low-key thinking I might be psychic... turns out those weren't actually instances of "thing from dream happened in real life the next day", but rather "absence seizures and your brain duplicating the information it's taking in and deciding that since you've never been here before in reality it must have happened in a dream. Or whatever, brain broken, takapill makit stop."

@Shivansh Upadhyay There's plenty of things on the screen that can be very useful for learning. Although it's best to make sure you get some excercise and sun each day as well, and get used to trolls and cyberbullying

LMAO, My boyfriend has Autism and avoided eye contact for so long. But now he looks me in my eyes, and I love looking into his (They're really pretty, too).
