Was driving on the A3 this morning in torrential rain. Saw so many idiots still trying to speed. There were also two accidents that held up traffic as police attended. Numpty's the lot of them. I got to my destination safely as I refused to go over 50 due to the rain and road conditions. Frankly I would have stayed at home but was picking up a friend and luggage from Selsey after their holiday.

Why would your horn have made a big difference to the situation - Missing using your horn is also illegal.

@bradfordzone5187 its not misusing the horn as im letting them know they are holding up traffic. Misusing the road like the van driver is far worse than holding the horn down.

I have noticed the standards of bus drivers dropping, their indicators seem to be the most common fault, i reckon hes pulled out from a stop and forgot to flick that lever

5:08 I imagine by the time he saw your indicator he was already in that lane and past the last vehicle on the left. So his choice is bang on the left hand indicator and try to force his way into the left lane when traffic starts moving, or just do what he did.

That was a traffic offence to move or interfere with road signage at 07.50 mins,that driver should be fined.

Loved the sound effects and thought the Benny hill music summed up the van driver perfectly. as for the Fiat driving- yes they are 'allowed' to do this but it was the lack of common sense and lack of awareness that was the real issue. Parking on the wrong side of the road adds to the danger especially when the want to get out which means they will possibly holding up more traffic great video as well!

We drive on the left, If you park facing oncoming traffic it’s dangerous and if you do it at night you can be fined for doing it.

You should try to park in the direction of traffic not against it, the big thing she is doing wrong is she is in danger of being rear ended because people don’t expect you to stop in the middle of the road when there isn’t a road to turn into, and if she did this at night she could be fined.

@@thelondondashcamWell the driver behind should be paying attention then. Also, there is a manoeuvre where you park against traffic on the driving test so it is fine to do. I don’t think anybody would enforce such a thing anyways.

Again, it doesn’t make any sense why it would be on the driving test when if you did the same manoeuvre at night, you could be fined for doing it. It’s very dangerous to be pulling out of that space in the daytime or nighttime.

One problem of driving instruction is the 'tyre and tarmac' matra that instructors use. Yoy must always stop about a car length from the car in front to give you escape room. Many drivers who pass their test do not progress beyond this to be able to think for themselves and decide when this is not the most appropriate thing to do. My father-in-law still quoted this after over 30 years of driving, and was convince that in the event of hi car being rear-ended and being shunted into the car in front that he would be held responsible. As my daughter was in an accident like this, I can confirm that it is not true.

It's not as much about liability as protecting yourself. Leaving a good distance in front of you gives you a potential escape route, e.g if you're at the back of a queue on a motorway and you see a vehicle coming from behind that looks like it won't stop in time, it gives you space to pull onto the hard shoulder. It's also helpful if you need to move aside to let an emergency vehicle through. I agree that it's situation-dependent though, and critical thinking should be applied.

I agree with most of your assessment of situations and complaints with driving standards, but I don’t understand why it bothers you so much when someone going straight on in lane 2 queues behind someone turning right. It doesn’t affect you in the slightest. The only time you might be miffed with it is if you’re behind them wanting to turn right and don’t make it through the lights. Other than that, the only one affected is them.

Yes you are correct and to be fair to him he didn’t try to force his way into a gap that isn’t there, but 9 times out of 10 they do push in making everyone who saw me indicate and get in the correct Lane, wait for them. But as you say it didn’t effect me but it’s still stupid driving in my opinion.

10:15 .. Please say you didn't alter that clip in any way .. That is an actual true to life unaltered original clip???? .. A BMW indicating ... wow .. slowly ...ever so slowly ..maybe they are evolving into drivers that actually give a toss about other road users ... It could be a long and winding road for them ... but hey ho ..you have got to start somewhere. Maybe Kids/Peds and cyclists can evolve to understand what the fuck RED means on a pedestrian crossing/ Traffic lights .. but I wouldn't hold my breath on that.
