"Underrated" is not the right term to describe P!nk. I think she's underappreciated as a vocalist. Those who know P!nk definitely could attest to the greatness of her singing. Some of her biggest hits are vocally demanding songs like Just Give Me a Reason and F*ckin' Perfect. However, people don't necessarily include her in the conversations on powerhouse vocalists etc. P!nk has been super consistent as well. I wish she would score more huge hits in the near future because it has been awhile since she attained one.

Baekhyun is Idol of all Idols when it comes to vocals at this point. The number of Idols who said Baekhyun is their role model is actually too many to count now. I personally love his vocal tone, the genre of song for his solos, he is king of versatility. Honestly one of the best in the game. But also Chen and D.O the other two members of the holy trinity are also incredibly amazing and one of the best in the industry. EXO’s vocals never disappoints but instead exceeds expectations and delivers than what is necessary.

tryng to learn. I perceive that the biggest difference between red and (yellow+ green) is that the voice looks more closed and sounds squished or forced. Now from yellow to green sounds, was harder to understand, more open often with more vibrato and remembers more lyric (opera) singing than brodway.
@KenBarbz
@KenBarbz 8 ай бұрын
The thing that distinguishes a yellow to a green is resonance and emotiveness. Both check the boxes for good belting technique but green belts take it a step a higher! Also, the Erertha one was a closed vowel but still a green belt...which is impressive by any standard but this is Aretha Franklin we're talking about! So I'm not shocked 😂😂😂

5:30 Whitney's voice was so glorious! So much power yet it wouldn't ever sound harsh like some belts from other powerhouse belters. 🔊💆‍♂️ 6:45 Celine with those powerful and piercing belts ⚡ I've been fascinated by how she slightly tilts her head before she hits those notes. 8:04 Queen of Soul indeed! She did that on a closed vowel and looked so effortless. Aretha really earned that title. 👸 7:10 Just look at how Barbra went for that powerful and resonant belt without taking a breath. Mother of the Divas indeed. Her breath control is on another level. 🤰🎤🎶 8:26 So resonant and emotive! Lara really uses her voice to tell beautiful stories plus she really emotes whenever she performs. ☔ 8:53 Such a wonderfully sustained belt from Kelly C. That vibrato too! 🤩 9:42 Mariah's voice just soars and she usually does it in a spontaneous way. Songbird Supreme is such a fitting title 🐦👑 0:57 Um, Sir...please why. In these uncertain times we are in, your content really brings a sense of calm to many of us! The great vs decent vs bad series is a versatile concept. I have a question for the singing nerds! What is happening physically when someone’s vibrato starts virtually as soon as they sing a note, vs. someone whose vibrato starts towards the end of a note? Is one inherently more healthy for the vocal cords than the other?
@Cfts22
@Cfts22 8 ай бұрын
In my humble opinion I’m not a specialist but I think the vibrato starting as soon as the note is sung shows that the sound that is produced comes from a healthy place, breath, support and vowel are aligned. And the vibrato starting towards the end of a note is also a healthy thing but generally those are sustained notes. Vibrato takes a lot of air and support so if you want to sustain a note it’s better to start with a straight note (helps you sustain) and end with vibrato (sign of healthy singing and aesthetically pleasing)
@adamsamess2163
@adamsamess2163 8 ай бұрын
A note starting out without vibrato, and ending with it cleanly is regarded as the more “proper” route from a classical standpoint. Like classical and more old-fashioned training always point to ending a note with vibrato rather than singing it fully with vibrato the whole way. But I’d say whether note has no vibrato, is ended with vibrato or is sung fully with vibrato doesn’t really indicate “health”
@mayboy128
@mayboy128 8 ай бұрын
@@adamsamess2163 Huh. I’ve always read that someone having vibrato indicates they’re singing in a more proper, healthy way. Why do people say that? @@mayboy128 Its a common misconception amongst people that vibrato = good technique which just isn't true. You can sing with poor technique and still have vibrato, as this video displayed well. Vibrato is simply oscillation in pitch, and while vibrato is often easier to access if you're singing while relaxed, it doesn't actually mean anything and only really appears as a requirement in more classical or old fashioned training

Ok! ok! I see what you're saying. Essentially, the best singers for the ladies are mainly old school. Good times.

I’ve been watching your videos for a while and I always love how thorough you are. Is there any way you could explain why these are good, decent, and bad? To my very untrained ear, sometimes I can vaguely tell a difference but not a huge one. Either way, a great video as always!

Learn about breath support and vocal placement. It'll help you distinguish which is good and which is not!

No he can’t explain. The criteria for what is considered “good, decent, or bad “ isn’t even consistent across this one video

@@waterbottle9291 True, he's a content creator, not a voice teacher, don't really trust his judgment, your use your evaluation of what's good or not And to the comment above: double no. Both, breath support and especially vocal "placement" isn't something really useful, especially at the really beginning of someone's vocal development

something ive noticed is the great belters have very little difference in tone when they shift from singing normally vs belting, whereas the good belts tend to aound slightly harsher or more "strained"

No G5, G#5, and A5! It would be great if you could find clips with those notes. Also, please take time to browse more filipino singers. The Philippines has more to offer than just Morissette. Thanks.
