Bad Chad

15 күн бұрын

The floor was tacked to the frame so that it would stay in place and not get out of shape. Now that the floor is done, we're going to release all the welds from the frame. Fingers are crossed that it stays in shape. We learned from the last floor we made that we should flip it upside down and finish it before we apply the body. Once that's done, it needs to be prepped for paint, rocker guard, and seam sealer. THEN we'll be ready to put the body on 😅 ps... let us know in the comments if you enjoyed the edited version today or if you like it the 'normal' way.

When I was a young Welder, learning the trade, I worked in Philly at a Class 7 Truck Dealership in 1967. The guy teaching me to Weld, said "" A good Welder can always correct his mistakes "". No one is perfect, we all make mistakes, we learn from them and move on. I really enjoy the channel, Bad Chad, Jolene, Doug, Nate a great team !!!!

Chad I'm now85 years old, and during my lifetime I have had 3 best friends named Chad. I really enjoy your videos in the "normal way". I worked many years at a scrap processing company (the largest such business in the United States). I was foreman and enjoyed reprocessing many 'antiques' that came through to be scrapped. We bought vehicles for crushing. I just could not crush many cars or trucks because I thought they were too classy for such an ending. Luckily, I had a very good job and could afford a lot of these. I also later purchased a farm (40 acres) which I covered with antiques and such. My wife and I had 2 boys and 1 girl which I taught the value of hard work and saving as much history as they possibly could. I'm so grateful for your show because it teaches many of the same things I tried to teach my children. And the others on your show like Jolene, Doug, Jim who paints a 56 Olds with a brush - I met and loved quite a few friends like these myself. We are SO lucky, aren't we Chad? You and Jolene - Hazel and I have been married 63 years and that's not even half enough. If you are ever in Missouri come see me! I have a large home, and we'd welcome you and Jolene anytime!! I also talk too much. Love your show and what it portrays. James M and Hazel Coker (Two friends we hope)

When you mention Aiden it brings back memories when he used to work in the shop with you guys...Another damn good worker that you had. I know he's going to school now but it would be great if you could have him over for a day just for all of us to see how he's doing!!! He was very much so missed and we all know he had to move on and do his own thing...

Back in the 70s to 90s a lot of the guys I worked with gave me shit for wearing masks and respirators. They considered that to be unmanly. I never let that bother me but it was pretty hard to understand why they ignored the reasons for wearing them. When covid first hit I wore masks when I was out in public spaces and early on folks would snarl at me for that. Not so much now though. I see folks wearing them now and no one pays any attention to it, so at least we've progressed a bit when it comes to those.

@@jackjfjfjf there was a mandate to wear masks where I live near Branson, MO. So having worn them for years it wasn't a big deal for me, but most here were pretty pissed about it. It didn't last very long though, I think it was only 3 months.

Just a thought. If you had the resources why would you not purchase a stockpile of metal like the 18 gauge sheet metal square stock 2 inch flat bar and anything thing else that you use on a regular basis. The thought behind it would be metal prices will continue to rise so think about how much you would save pre buying the materials you use all the time and if for no other reason than to always have it when needed. Just a thought.

Hi Chad!! I love your built and your creativity. Watching your chanel for almost a year now. Never add any comment. There's 3 thing that came to my mind on this built. -I really think you should put primer on what you built. You put a lot of effort on the outside view. Puting the same amout of effort under and inside will definitely increase the quality of your built. And for 100-200$ and 2 day of work. -Instead of lowering the body on the frame, maybe think about making taller sill. -your are going to break your rear trailing arm if you don't put some flexibility on the axle part. Ask yourself why it doesn't came that way stock at the dealer. You absolutely need some "flex travel". Take what you like and throw away what you don't.
