Thank you for the awesome highlights. I remember watching this match and how close it was. It was Simon Santoso coming off a big win over LCW against LD who was just coming back from a long break. Fantastic match and shot making.

The difference in footwork is astonishing...LD is so much more smooth and efficient. Crazy how LD can make a world-class player look so mediocre at times.

Yep... It's the most important stroke because everyone is anticipating either straight or cross court drop. When cross court clear comes opponent gets out of position💩

And Lin Dan was not even near his prime at this time. Prime LD (2007-2009) played a completely different badminton and 2010-2013 LD was faster than 2014 LD. But, 2014 LD vs 2019 Momota would be a really good match up. Both have the same base style and about same speed, but one is offensive oriented and one is defensive oriented.

Lin Dan is playing at less than 70% for most of the match. He hits a lot of winners even when he isn't trying. It's obvious for his opponent, and it lowers their moral. lol

There might have been players who were close to the skill of LD. But the natural stamina that he possessed. The sheer persistence in the game. It killed his opponents

Santhoso, what a play in the 1st set. Damn i've u been killing Lin Dan. Did u take lessons from Taufik? Santhoso could have won but his stamina couldn't cope up with Lin Dan's. Lin Dan was a machine in tjat class. His play during the 3rd set never gave a feeling that he was playing the 3rd one.

LD was injured all pf 2013, somehow won the world championship after getting a wild card. Peoceeded to be injured most of 2014, and wasn't qualified to defend is title. So thats the demarcation - pre-2013 LD was unbeatable, and post 2013 LD was merely one of the best players.

Think that can momota defeat Lindan in this 2010-2014 if momota's prime time? some momota fans thought that he can defeat Lindan... im also a fan of momota. Actually i believe that no one can defeat Lindan in his prime time,, till late 2019, he is so good against his every opponent.They need to watch most of his videos like me, and make a right decision.
