Before we were RV living full time, we only spent a couple days at Bahia Honda State Park in the Keys compared to the 10 days we spent at Curry Hammock State Park in the Florida Winter of 2019. Now that we are RV Living Full Time, we hope to go back next winter for longer.Lots of trails for your RV dogs but not on the beach.

From the water front spots to the long beaches to the old Bahia Honda bridge, this is a must see location in the Keys.
The majority of this Bahia Honda State Park campground tour is a site to site detailed tour so you can truly see which one is right for you. We also show the amenities- such as the Marina, the Nature Center, the store, the old bridge, and where you can walk your dogs (they have a lot of rules against dogs).

Another great tour! We stayed here about 10 years ago, I don't remember the site number, but it was on the water. And yes we had to go buy another water hose. The day we were leaving they made everyone leave because a tropical storm was on the way. Thanks for sharing.

If you guys are still in the area, the snorkeling at John Pennekamp is excellent with one of the prettiest coral reefs I've ever seen.

Sorry for late response. I don't know how I missed you. Thanks for the positive feedback. Larry hated trying to find pictures of sites and coudn't find any. It is so important to be able to see the site if you have the choice. Water sites are crucial at this park. Bring a long water hose- haha. We lived in the keys for several years in the 80's, but never made it out in the park. Very nice tour, thanks for the look around. Detailed narration was perfect! Question: What camera and gimbal were you using? Happy New Year!

Excellent video! We used to stay here every February and November on water sites. The past 10 years we can’t get ANY site no matter how many times we sit there hitting “Return” from 7:45 to 8:10 am, 11 months out 😖. Can never get into Sunshine Key through TT either, even though standard sites are available if you want to pay $1000 a week. What a bummer!

Debbie, it is so hard. We couldn’t get into Bahia or Curry. But we got Pennekamp. Same for us with the TTs. Encores only save so many spots. I’m hoping next year there will be less RVers. The trick is to keep checking close to date you want. Many people cancel last minute. Alice

Lorena, they have a new reservation system- we have not changed that in the info. Just Google Florida State Parks, Bahia Honda and look for camping. The instructions will be there, Alice

Thanks for the great video! I've been trying every morning to get a site there at 8 am for 11 months in advance. As soon as they're available, they're gone in a heartbeat. Florida State parks no longer use Reserve America. If you have any ideas on how to use this new system, it would be greatly appreciated! Again, thanks for the great videos. Your campsite tours have helped our selections in the past. I know you put in a great effort in your presentations. Thanks again!

Bill, thank you. We really appreciate it when someone notices all our hard work. We don’t have much experience with the new system. We are in Maine right now. Really, it’s about cancellations. The closer the date to when you want to go, the more likely there are cancellations since people book 11 months in advance and plans change. I wish we could help more. We couldn’t get Bahia this past winter. Reservations are the hardest to get ever, Alice

Why? No dogs on the beach? Why? There is lots of birds poop and fish on the sea dead plants and smells like rotten eggs then why no dogs. I took mine with no issues at all my dog I the most organic member of my family
