I worked into the night to get this done because we are fast approaching March 31st, which is when the Timber Wolf season comes to an end here in Ontario. Now that the blind is dialled in & the bait is set, we can now relax & wait for the Wolves to hit it so we can begin to pattern them.
Expect some overnight camping in this blind, I cannot wait!

Very cool. I understand the "making meals for work". I do the same to bring with me on the road. Also totally understand the eerie feeling after dark at a bait site. Bear hunting I always stayed in the tree stand till dark and I knew the bears knew my schedule better than I did so they sat and waited till I left but knowing the bears were that close and walking back to my truck in the dark woods always had me on edge. I don't fear bears or wolves but I definitely respect them.

Gotta prep the meals or else you'll go for the crappy "fast" meals like Tim Hortons or McDonalds... just gross man!!! LOL Bears scare me more than Wolves... they are WAY more silent in the bush than Wolves are. I agree though, it's not so much a fear but a vast respect for them & their hunting techniques. Maybe your Bears had wrist watches or smart phones so they knew when you'd come & go 🤣

Friggin' amen brother, it truly is & you know it just as much as I do!! Bad mistake not having my rifle with me, not something I do or have done ever before... but at least it was safe in its case in my truck all locked up so the Wolves couldn't man-handle it & come hunt me... 🤣 I hear you about this winter... what a weird year eh? Its a bit colder now... -15 to -20 at night, but the days are still warm. The Sun especially is very warm, which is a given since its almost March... You can feel Spring in the air already... Then again a week & a half ago it was +5 so LOL

Hahahahha Ernie, I love you brother - Keep staying true to yourself. It may take me hundreds of hours, or it may take me 20 minutes... Just depends on the day & timing. I've said this before though, as I get older I do feel the need to capture the Wolves on video, or photos more than taking a shot at them. Its a struggle between leaving them alone but also managing the numbers to ensure the Ungulates & Deer are somewhat safe, especially the Calf & Fawn population. Lots of fishing adventures planned - Especially in the Spring, so you'll love those!!!

That's a sweet blind. Will the wolves circle downwind much to check if you're there before coming into the bait? Here the coyotes will circle way downwind to see if I'm there. We can hunt all night so there will be times I'm out there in a well hidden pop up at 3am with my thermal scope. And they'll still try to bust me.

The stomach rules all, my friend! But it depends... They seem to have travelled both portions of this trail, both right by my blind & right by the bait site itself. Since my scent will mainly be around the blind moving forward, that should negate them coming anywhere near the blind. And the realization between how close the blind is to the bait site, well, thats why the blind is concealed with brush, etc. In one of my older videos, Franklin & I built a igloo Wolf blind & I slept overnight a few nights - Had one of the Alpha Brown Wolves walk right by the Igloo within 2 yards of where I was sleeping (Just snow blocks between us LOL) then it stopped right at the left corner of the Igloo, turned around & walked back on its trail into the bush. So will they catch me? Maybe... But they won't really know whats up because they cannot visually see me. I find Coyotes are way more skittish than Wolves & often, in my experience, Coyotes seem to feed at night where I can easily (Not easily but you know what I mean) pattern Wolves so they feed at sun-up, or sun-down by baiting at specific hours. In the end of the day... I don't have a friggin' clue if they will catch me or not, but thats why it takes sometimes hundreds of hours of sitting to smack a Wolf!!! ....Or... if you're at Franklin's hunting, sometimes all it takes is 20 minutes LOL

Nice set up ,should produce for you. Have you tryed pork scraps? I bought 3000lbs of it and had it out for 2 1/2 months in Northern alberta but the wolf pack didnt hit it yet. Had singles come in but havent really fed on it. They seemed nervous on the cam. Tracks everywhere even. Not sure whats happening but maybe its to open on the old skid trail at the very back of the cutblock. I think the wolves left. Maybe its covered with to much brush as even the ravens dont try to get any anymore as they were all over it an ate alot before i covered it. Probably will put some out in the open to get the birds back again an get the noise.

Do you have home depot around you. Because they put any lumber that is knocked or damaged in anyway on clearance for 70 percent off. I go to ours whenever I go by . In two weeks I got enough lumber to build 8x8 x8 chicken coop and a 6x8 deer blind for 125 dollars. Don't know if any one else clearances stuff like that but you could check.

I went in one time the had two full lumber carts of 10 foot 2x4 for 2.80 apiece I needed 10 and another guy bought the rest he was building a pole building. Ended up being 264 boards . At 70 percent off.

I almost want to hide these two comments you put because they are SUCH AMAZING IDEAS LOL!!!!!!! Got a Timber Mart & Home Hardware in Red Lake... Home Depot is 6 hours away in Thunder Bay, but 100% going to inquire into this. Here I've been dismantling people's decks & salvaging wood from the side of the road, pallets/skids, etc... when I could have spent a little bit of dough for some solid lumber. Tomato, Tomatoe... But I think I would rather some good dimensional lumber - Also... I plan to build a chicken coop too, so THANK YOU!!!!!!@@randybedker1584
