This is exactly what my Taco needed! Never hurts to light up the night when backing up is concerned (especially on trails).

Ideal location but also ideal location to get jacked up this is the first thing to drag offloading and 1st thing to get hit by distracted drivers!

Looks like I need one of these!!! AS for a hitch lock, Ive had good luck with the Blu Ox brand locking pins. If you dont tow often, you could use a Hillman 5/8" x 3" (length depending on vehicle/hitch) shouldered bolt w/ nut.

Is the Blue Ox brand "longer"? That's the problem with the Toyota variants as they are "sleeved" and as a result require a slightly longer pin to work. I have just run into that issue on this truck. I would rather have one lock that doesn't require me to swap hitch pins as well when I swap between pod/tow ball. Thanks for the recommendation!

Would really love to see one of these harnesses that ties into the factory reverse lights on a Ford Bronco but also is able to be switched off and on using one of the six Bronco aux switches. My understanding is that there is a wire near the back of the cargo area that would be perfect for this type of application.

We actually have a harness that will be coming soon that will leverage the OEM trailer connections from the back to be PNP. Have one testing on a Bronco right now actually! If you wanted to you wire up an additional trigger for the S1 you could.

Question - instead of the model specific harnesses, why not just have a universal 4 or 7 pin plug that goes into the trailer plug?

Funny you should say that! We actually just teased a week or so ago (on our IG) a harness that that works exactly as you describe! We had to work out some QC and stability concerns from our end to make sure that we're providing a quality product. We should be releasing it in just a few weeks.

Using the actual plug doesn’t make it look factory and in the long run will cause issues with the cover of the plug rubbing on the wires and bending them I ran into the issue with a lightbar under my tailgate on my F150. Unless you get a really stout plug and wiring to attach the light to that will protect the wiring, the covering will eventually chaff the wiring on the harness. But regardless of what you use, the cover will want to force the plug to one side as the pressure of the cover on the plug is pretty decent. If you use a 7 pin harness it will be overkill when you only need two wires, and will stick out like a site thumb. It’s easier to take the extra 5 minutes to wire it directly to the reverse light for a factory look and less issues. That’s if you don’t want the specific harness, but for their price why not? It’s pretty cheap for what it does.

We do not have anything currently at the ready for the 4Runners, but we were just able to source 4Runner connectors here a week or so ago! Finishing up the details of them now!

Nothing in the works for a PNP for a Silverado, but we are finalizing a universal PNP type of harness for anyone with the current standard trailer connections! Don't worry, it will all be hidden too!
