Sometimes the segments will have to be realigned as they can shift, but if you’re squeaking again already you might be getting noise at the center pin or the bushings as well.

I have a GMC Sierra. Bad squeaking/groaning. I stupidly paid for new leaf springs. Less than a year they're starting to groan and clunk. I assumed this was from the bushings at the end of the leaf pack. Do you know anything about GM's issue?......leaf pack noise or bushing? If bushing what would you do about that?

Does the amber backlight on the ssc2 lenses differ? Because compared to tge ss3s, some ssc2s have a similar backlight, while others have a much weaker Backlight
@hotshotoffroad
@hotshotoffroad 12 күн бұрын
The different lenses will reflect the light differently, and as a result the backlight will be more apparent (or not). For example, on the SSC2 if you chose a SAE Fog lens the backlight will be much more visible then when paired with a spot lens. There's many more angles for the backlight to reflect off of on the SAE fog lens. Hopefully that helps!

@@hotshotoffroad thanks for the reply! So if I’m choosing the ss3 sae yellow max, what ssc2s should i choose in order for the backlights intensity to match the ss3?
@hotshotoffroad
@hotshotoffroad 12 күн бұрын
@@Asdfg-fw9ib Something like the combo, flood, or even driving should have similar backlight intensity. Also, we've got them all available over at Hotshot Offroad!

We OCCASIONALLY get a little bit of movement in the instances when we really lash on the suspension, but we've never had any fall out. Looking at the truck today I think that there's 3 pieces that could use adjustment, but there's no sound from back there at all.

Hey man just a question do the rubber bits slip out when your on a track and the leafs are flexing a lot
@hotshotoffroad
@hotshotoffroad Ай бұрын
They'll shift around sometimes in high speed use-cases, but we don't get movement on them when we're crawling. There's enough pressure on them that even when the leaves open up they're pretty much pressed into place.

Am I missing something? I thought the noise came from the bushings.
@hotshotoffroad
@hotshotoffroad 2 ай бұрын
In our experience a lot of the noise from Icon RXTs anyway come from the interaction between the leaves themselves! It's not often from the bushings. Now their UCAs on the other hand... definitely the bushings!

Colton: Thanks for taking the time to CLEARLY label the on-screen comparisons and leave them on screen long enough to comprehend.. I have watched way too many videos of folks who just describe what they are displaying which leads to confusion. PS: Your voice is excellent - don't chang it to the overly excited - this is incredible - ow WOW - over the top dialog. Yours is just perfect.

Great video Aimed proper as you described how are they in rain / fog / snow ? Any glare ? Thick pea soup fog and blizzards are what I plan to use them in. Guess they can be aimed and mounted lower as I’m buying universal mounts
@hotshotoffroad
@hotshotoffroad 6 ай бұрын
The glare is minimal! That's the whole point of these is to cut through the blizzards, fog, etc! That said, you'll want to make sure to get at least the pro power level so that the lens face gets hot enough to actively clear off driving snow.

I use surface shield by blaster and I coat the entire undercarriage with it. Then I jack up the body of the truck and spray it between the open leafs in the pack. Spray your underneath like this once a year for two to three years and it builds up to a nice surface to where no rust and no squeaks. I do like this idea as well

If your going to that extent you should just grease the pads and/or replace any damaged ones. A lot of people don't do regular maintenance on their leaf pack and have squeaking. Most installers never breaded them before putting them in either.
