About Dominar 400
Bajaj Dominar 400 is a cruiser bike available in 1 variant in India. Its price starts from ₹1,97,724 (ex-showroom). Bajaj Dominar 400 generates 39.42 bhp of power and 35 nm of torque from its 373.27cc engine. Single cylinder engine of Bajaj Dominar 400 has a 6 speed manual gearbox. The Bajaj Dominar 400 offers the best value proposition at its price point, but improvements can always be made to a product. Keeping that in mind, Bajaj had gone ahead while updating the Dominar which had received a host of upgrades in 2019, that makes it a better product.
The motorcycle continued with the same design but received a few subtle updates in 2019 which give it a fresh appeal. It is available with the choice of two colour schemes- Aurora Green and Vine Black. In terms of equipment, it features a data-extensive instrument console providing host information to the rider along with a secondary display on the fuel tank.
It also gets premium-looking side mirrors, forged side stand and a double-barrel exhaust. In order to maximise the touring abilities, the 2019 Dominar comes with straps located beneath the pillion seat that can be used to mount luggage using bungee cords.
Coming to the mechanical upgrades, the motorcycle now features inverted front forks borrowed from the KTM range. And with that, it also gets a radial caliper for the braking system up front. The rear continues to sport a monoshock and a single disc for braking. Dual-channel ABS is standard.
Next is the motor. It’s the same 373.2cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected mill that comes with a DOHC configuration. This has allowed Bajaj to extract more power from the engine which now produces 39.4bhp of max power at 8650rpm and 35Nm of peak torque at 7000rpm. The kerb weight of the bike stands at 187kgs.
In its price segment, the Bajaj Dominar 400 competes against the Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM 250 Duke and Suzuki Gixxer 250.
TVS Apache RR 310 Latest Updates
TVS has increased the asking price of the Apache RR 310 to Rs 2.45 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The price revision has taken place almost seven months since its launch in January 2020. The bike was updated then to meet the BS6 emission norms, receiving updates like ride-by-wire, four rider modes, and a colour TFT dash. The new price is Rs 5,000 more than its initial launch price, making it Rs 17,000 more than its BS4 counterpart.
Apache RR 310 Specifications
The 312.7cc, reverse-inclined, single-cylinder, DOHC motor developed by BMW Motorrad dishes out the same 34PS and 27.3Nm as it did in its BS4 avatar. TVS has taken considerable strides to iron out the harsh vibrations that were present on the old bike. Thanks to ride-by-wire, TVS has been able to provide linear throttle maps. The engine mounting points have been damped better and a little revision has been done to the engine’s internals as well. With the inclusion of ride-by-wire, TVS has also introduced four riding maps on the RR 310 BS6. While in Track and Sport mode you get to enjoy the full potential of the 34PS and 27.3Nm, the Urban and Rain modes curb it down to 28.5PS and 25Nm. TVS claims that the latter two modes are helpful when you want to commute and perhaps even extract better fuel efficiency out on the highway. There are no modifications done to the tubular steel trellis frame. Even the suspension and braking units on offer are the same as before. The RR 310 BS6 runs with the same gold-cased USD fork, aluminium swingarm with a preload-adjustable monoshock, radial front brake and petal discs at both ends. You do find new shoes on the RR 310 BS6 with TVS opting for grippier Michelin Road 5 rubber for this iteration.
Apache RR 310 Design
The TVS Apache RR 310 BS6 continues to be a handsome looker with the obvious comparisons to a fully-faired Ducati when it was first launched two years ago. There are subtle changes to the design. The fly screen is mounted differently so it doesn’t rattle quite like it used to. You get two colour options -- Racing Red and Titanium Black -- both of which bear the same price.
Apache RR 310 Features
The biggest update in terms of features on the TVS Apache RR 310 BS6 is the new colour TFT dash. It continues to be vertically stacked like the old LCD digital screen. The layout on the screen changes according to the riding mode you are in, with night and day colour options. You can control the screen via the ‘control cube,’ TVS’ lingo for the navigational buttons found on the left switch cluster.
