Mine fell apart in a year. The felt came off in 6 months, the vinyl top started separating from the aluminum. The emblem fell off mine in about 3 months. And mine would not adjust down enough to meet the tailgate. I contacted customer service and fought with them for a few months and they wouldn’t honor the warranty because the tag fell off. They finally honored the warranty, and gave me a new cover but that cover doesn’t have a warranty. For 800 bucks I expected a little more. I agree with all the positives on the cover, but in reality I would say save your money and buy a retractable cover.

The issue at the front with the retaining straps can be alleviated by loosening the straps before inserting, then tightening after both are clipped in. Works great !

I bought this exact cover in 2018 and today had it replaced just a month shy of 3 year warranty expiration. I had two problems with old cover. 1 the cloth underside material glue failed causing one side to completely come off. Other side was coming off also. 2. The viny started cracking about 3” from the rear. The dealer (Leonard Buildings in Raleigh) was very helpful, took photos and told me 3-4 weeks to get replacement (cover only), not the rails. Today approx 6 weeks later Leonard replaced. Bak revised the design and replaced the cloth with pieces of plastic (better design) however that new cover has a different type of strap attachment (a insert and turn type vs existing “click” one as shown in this video. I will be getting replacement straps that work, although it works fine with no straps. All in all I am happy with this cover however my next cover will likely be a non vinyl flip type.

Had one on my current truck for ~4 years now. No real problems. The clip for the retaining strap can be a bit better situated, but not a big deal. I did notice just last week that my logo is starting to peel off. My biggest issue is that it seems to attract dust/dirt, but then I never really tried to put any protectant on it. I'm getting a new truck in a month or so and am looking at covers for it, but so far, haven't seen anything I like better, so I'll probably just get the X4 (which I think is basically a slightly different finish on the cover).

The purpose of the felt is to keep from pinching your fingers between the slats as you roll. I speak from experience as the felt came off mine the first hot day after I installed it. My X2 has been a piece off junk. It never sealed well enough to keep rain from coming in around the tailgate. The vinyl started peeling in less than a year. One of the slats came recently came out making the cover “bunch” near the front and thus making it too short and also ripping the vinyl. Mine was Ford branded and I had the same issues others mention trying to get a warranty claim. BAK said since it was Ford branded, had to go through Ford. Ford would then counter it was a manufacturing defect and refuse to help. Finally, after much persistence I have a return authorization and I am supposedly getting my money back. I am wondering if the X4 is an improvement or more junk.

I've had mine for about five years. Both strips of felt have long since fell off. The vinyl top started separating from the aluminum top at the back this past year. Now the locking bar on the passenger side stopping coming all the way down near the cab. It comes all the way down and locks fine near the tailgate. At highway speeds it comes loose out of the track and flaps in the wind on that side.

Fair review. I still prefer roll ups to the rigid tops - I've had too many times when I needed to put something oversize in the back and if I had one of those rigid tops - even if it folded, it wouldn't have worked as well as the roll up.

I've owned two X2's. both had the felt hang down like ugly curtains within 6 months of ownership.. Wont buy another from Bak. Mine stayed outside year round .Perhaps trucks housed in garages don't have that problem.

I could be wrong, but I think the felt is there to prevent your fingers from getting pinched between the aluminum slats while you are unrolling the cover.

I had the exact same tonneau cover BAK/REV revolver on my 2020 2500 denali. The vinyl on top only lasted 6 months and was dried out and cracking along the joints where it rolls up. Called Bak and they were rude saying I must have went through a car wash or used the wrong car wash soap! they wouldn't even help me said i had to go to GMC and have service file a claim. Worst cover ever! if the vinyl held up it would be great but $900 for something that doesn't even last a year F that!

I have had this cover 5 years and the aluminum roll up has fallen apart from each other.

The big question, would you buy it again? Do the positive sides outweigh the negatives?

Anyone both had Hard Tri-Fold and Hard Roll-up? How does the Hard Roll Up compare to Hard tri-fold durability wise? Would you say Hard Tri-fold would be a better choice for durability/ lifetime?

Can I put my dirt bike in the back if it’s rolled up? I have a 250

Is there adjustment at the tailgate end? Meaning is there a way to make it seal better on the back end?

If I have a sports bar already on my truck can o still put this cover on?

Has anyone even come close too figuring out the flaw the annoyance the literal blue print error with the Noise and the rattle the cover makes even under the simplest of driving ! Has anyone asked BAK or figured out a modification too do away with the noise

Unless water is clean and demineralization like the spot free rinse water in a car wash, it’s going to leave spots and stains. Water running of a garage door will be full of dust.

Paint on my rails started peeling off after a year looked terrible

It’s junk and expensive the same wining is from the aluminum as you roll it up

Bought mine 2018, the fabric glued to aluminum has shrunk, peeling and looks horrible. Cover has cracked in numerous areas where cover hundred over. Out of warranty. Paid a premium price for poor craftsmanship. Wouldn’t recommend!

Such brilliance,,,,,,,You get what you pay for, I researched and found many negative reviews, I almost got it. You complain about everything, makes you wonder why you purchased it in the first place.

Your first problem is you have a Ford. To make it worse you have the old man steps in the tailgate so that your seal problem. The stains boohoo, are from rust!
