Hey guys, John here with RealTruck.com. Today I'm going to show you how to install the Bak Revolver X2 Tonneau Cover on this 2015 GMC Sierra Denali 2500.
All right guys, we've got everything out of the boxes, laid out here where you can see it. As you can see it comes with everything you need to install this. It comes with your rail, it comes with the tunnel cover, also your mounting clamps and your seals and all the hardware to mount this on to the truck. Only one thing I'm going to do at this point and that's get this on the truck. First thing we're going to do on our installation is we're going to wipe this down with an alcohol pad and install our seal for our bulkhead.
Now there are two different ones you can use. If you don't have a drop in bed liner, which this isn't. It's a spray on that's in here, then you want to use the three quarter inch thick one. If you have a drop in bed liner, then you would use the quarter inch thick seal. On ours we are using the three quarters. So I'm going to go ahead and wipe this down and get this on here. I'm going to press it down real good and then we'll be ready to start putting our side rails on. We're going to take our rails, we're just going to set them up on top here, just like so and take our center one.
We're going to install it first and what we want to do with our center one, is we want to put it on here, but move it as far forward as we can here and make sure that the teeth are locked in to the rail and then just make sure you kind of push down on the rail a little bit and that'll help that seal that's on the rail to seal up really well. Don’t cinch down the clamps on the rail until the very end when you ensure everything is square.

You forgot to mention removing the foam from the brackets if a bed liner is fitted, also the critical point on when fitting the rails they need to be square ;)

With a locking tailgate would the be very secure? Is it possible to roll the cover up if the tailgate is up and locked? Thanks in advance.

Eric you are correct. This is one of the more secure roll-ups on the market today. With the gate up and locked you can not open the cover. I have a 2015 Tundra with a drop in bed liner. Bed Liner sets even with bed of truck. What is proper way to install cover?

+Douglas Baker not sure exactly what you mean by that it sits even with the bed of the truck. My understanding is that you are saying that it comes up to the top of the bed rail. I have never seen a drop in like that before usually they tuck underneath the bed rail. If it does go all the way to the top edge the only way to get proper fitment and for it to stay in place and seal properly would be to cut the liner so that it tucks under the rail then install your cover.

+Jens Tori sorry but I do not have an opinion on which one is the best. This is because it really depends on what each person is looking for and what they want out of their cover. Hence the reason for so many different styles and configurations of covers. For example: The best cover for me may be a roll-up because I am just looking to keep the weather out, whereas for you, it might be a hard fold with a lock because you are wanting to keep stuff secure in the bed of your truck. So the seal for the bulkhead will adhere to the spray-in bedliner? It seems it would be better with a smooth surface. Trying to decide on this cover but want to make sure it works well.

+Matt Cunningham it will stick as long as you clean it with alcohol first. Yes the ideal way would be to take off the bedliner from that area, but that's a bit more than you or I want to do I'm sure.

How waterproof is this?

Hello Jeff, Great question! All tonneau covers are water resistant. For this particulate cover I could keep all my expensive tools in the truck bed while going through a carwash, everything is dry as a bone. They are very good at keeping things dry.

Did you have to make any adjustments to the tailgate section of the Bedrug that's installed in this truck to work with the seal on the tonneau cover? I have a Bedrug installed in my Chev but the tailgate section goes to the top of the tailgate. I can't move it down or the Budrug interferes with the tailgate closing.

+Troy James that is a great question. Short answer is no. The tailgate section should go to just below the top of the tailgate or the bottom edge of the tailgate cap. The tailgate will be a bit tight to close because the section at the bottom bunches up when closed. This is normal and wont hurt anything. Your tonno covers tailgate seal should actually sit on top of the tailgate. If it is not you may need to move your tonno back a 1/4 to 3/8 inch.
