Pasta Chinja - Although the name here is very Calabrian, the dish is quite universal and one of my favorites from Southern Italy - and who doesn’t love pasta with juicy meatballs and cheese? Pasta Cinja is a childhood favorite of mine. My maternal grandparents came from Calabrian as did a lot of the Italian immigrants where I grew up in Oelwein. It was served at weddings, funerals & at many other times. We never used soppressata, or caciocavallo, just mozzarella. & the meatballs were made with beef.

This dish is packed with protein , the carb/protein ratio is perfect , just what the doctor ordered , I'm sure it's delicious too !!! I googled the Caciocavallo Cheese because I've never seen it .Thanks for the video .

Интересно е, че в България има сирене, което е със сходно наименование - кашкавал, и технологията на приготвяне е подобна. В Южна Италия съм опитвала качокавало и установих, че българското качествено сирене също прилича на него.

@jafallica Опитайте печена паста, в този случай не ви трябва много сос. Той се поема от пастата и вкусът става по-богат. Различно е от варената паста, която също много харесвам, но резултатът е божествен.

In fact, but Lidia didn't say she had "created" a new dish. This, as Lidia also said in the video, is a classic Pasta al Forno (baked pasta), typical here in southern Italy. After all, in her videos she does not present her creations, but classic dishes of the great and famous Italian cuisine.

⁠⁠@@lemdixon01. Ah, sorry, you meant this passage here (5:59), where she says in Italian…..“Niente di nuovo sotto il sole”... I hadn't noticed this passage. 👋 PS: phrase that you translated very well into English. Because it literally means exactly what you wrote. 👍

@@aris1956 well we say that too in English "nothing is new under the Sun" but she made a translation of what it literally means without knowing that we say the same phrase.
