Don't we all recall that time when Yujiro stopped an earthquake with a single punch? Offensive Shao Ri was gonna be small fry from the get-go. Yujiro had just been too used to holding back due to the many orders of magnitude to which he outclasses everyone else.

The Earthquake punch has since then been written off as the writer grandstanding. He didn't know how strong he wanted to make Yujiro yet, and since then, Yujiro has never done any feats that would output that much strength (stopping an earthquake would mean he's so strong he broke the tectonic plates

Does the writer even know that a person with those kind of muscles would require super large heart? You can’t make monster truck move with a tiny engine. If the heart gets too big it dies because it starts blocking its own blood vessels. As soon as yujiro pump those muscles his heart would have died or his vessels would have ruptured or suffer major aneurysm. He would have died in real life.

@@romdurb101 the show is great. The 2018 season had bad animation and CGI moments but Baki as a show is amazing. It has a Great way of telling the story and it has some of the most entertaining characters in all of anime with yujiro being just so enjoyable that he is the fans favourite character despite being an asshole

It's excellent psychological warfare. It can make you think well of your opponent, which will cause you to lower your guard and be easier to beat. Also, if you do lose, they literally just hyped you up to the audience and it will make their victory seem more impressive to that audience. Of course, that's for normal people. For Yujiro, none of that matters. It's hard to figure why he'd be doing that beyond the author using him for exposition.

Yujiro was actually enjoying the fight. he was sad the old man pulled a trick on him and faked death. The old man knew that if he took that punch from Yujiro, he would have died. So in essence, martial arts didn't win, it just survived against the strongest man on earth by being sneaky.

the old Baki makes you understand character motivations, skill gaps and relationships better. The animation and censorship are pretty bad most of the time though, which is why I recommend reading Manga, and I'm not one of those Manga puritans. The Anime is average with some good moments in it. If you have nothing better to do, then give it a try for the sake of plot alone.
