I think the writer changed (as in changed as a person) between the time he wrote the first chapter and when he returned to the series after.

@@GeorgeMonet Clearly, but as a storyteller, it should be his responsibility to stay consistent. A good story has a beginning and an ending, and they should always have a connection.

@@tek512 If you consider ignoring revenge and fighting your father as a way to seek validation that he didn't get as a child, literally crying and wetting his pants during the fight, and Yujiro having to give him the title of "The strongest creature on Earth" in the most patronizing way possible, a grow in Baki as a person, I guess that makes sense. The only think Baki did that could be considered plausible, given the context of the story, was asking Yujiro why he killed his mom, which Yujiro said "not telling" and Baki was like "k". You wanna see Baki really grow as a person? See him before and after losing to Yuri Chakovsky. He didn't just throw away his motivation, he changed his method. He started seeing things from another perspective. That was never shown in the whole Netflix series arcs.

You know, seeing as how the old man was dying (Yujiro is that good, to just walk down the street and pick people's weaknesses out to such a fine degree that he might as well be a walking cat scan), it could be assumed that this _wasn't_ their real fight (edit: for all Yujiro got no "chill," and Baki got no "quit"). Knowing what he did, Yujiro pushes the confrontation ahead years before he's willing/Baki is able, just to give this old man, who's given Yujiro _decades_ worth of the closest to entertainment he's gotten since getting strong and taken care of his kids, his chance to watch it. Double props if the old man was pretending so well as to fool Yujiro, triple if the excitement of the fight actually scared the death right out of him, lol I mean, the fight was foretold by Egyptians and brought back spirits from the afterlife, _crazier s- -t has _*_LITERALLY_*_ happened!_

You’re heavily missing the bigger picture of this fight. This whole show is symbolising bakis transformation from a boy to man. He develops his own ideology’s and philosophies and stands up against his father. The fight displays bakis courage because standing up to your father is not easy especially for Baki. Yujiro giving Baki the win on this fight shows how he respects the man Baki has become, and he is proud of his son.
