It was a significant number of orphans. At least enough liquid Mass to constitute mortar for a substantial building, with a pool hall, and other facilities. And orphans are pretty small, so you need quite a few if they’re gonna be sticky enough to hold bricks together.

All I can think of is how quickly Corazon would weaponize this as a way of keeping Dob quiet whenever he gets too Dobbish.

Yeah, but it was an attempt to convert meta knowledge to character knowledge, he tends to be relatively strict with meta stuff (hence them adopting the "ye olde tale of homey aloney" stuff early on) compared to bending the rules into the shape of a pretzel which he tends to be fine with.

Saw a cartoon as a kid can't remember the name (PBS broadcasting way back on the old school rabbit ears before the digital era) but the kid in the show had a newt pet that the parents nor anyone else would see or hear as talking. The Newt came to live around the kid and was like his best friend, come to think of it I think that was his only friend and now that I am way way older. I feel like that that show had a Real-life premises behind its writing. Heavy.

@@BlackMoonHowls For me it was just my first convention. I failed to prepare properly and by the end of the second day I was dehydrated, exhausted and hadn't really eaten enough. After this I got a takeaway and felt much better. Did much better at MCM the next month.

To be fair he barely uses spells, his extra attack and NEVER smites. Basically Egbert actually using game mechanics is something Mike allows him as a treat lol.

My dude who DMs pointed that out, citing that by like level 5 it's guaranteed to restore more than 2d8 + 5 hp. I'd gotten caught up in the story and forgotten about all of that, but he was right. When I first found Oxventure, I'd just played two paladins in a row and it did take me a hot minute to realize that Egbert was a paladin in a role-play sense, and not in an "80% of my spell slots will automatically go to Divine Smite" sense. Now we wouldn't have him any other way. Well, Corazon might, to be fair...

@@banditbanzai3197 Oh sure, the way Mike plays Egbert is a big part of the fun; launching himself with a bomb when there's a perfectly good (and much safer) rope etc. But I feel like even Egbert should know to heal himself when he (inevitably) gets badly hurt. 😂 Would make sense for someone who plays with bombs and canonically has gotten people killed with them (yet survived himself) to know what healing he has.

@Haravikk That's a good point. If I were a good-aligned character constantly setting off explosives, I'd want to know how to heal anyone I didn't mean to injure, including myself. And he may well have had to heal himself in the past when he behaved unwisely with the bombs.

A little of both. Egbert's got maybe a few traits but he plays them to the hilt...especially if they're to his detriment. Though if you've seen Legacy of Dragons then you've seen him expound on Egbert's backstory and really shine with the RP.

Plus the whole Barnaby stuff in blades in the dark ! Mike Just roleplay in a very subtle way ... and that include playing dumb 😆

@@MorinehtarTheBlue Mike's always been great at the roleplay side of the game - He's always shined whenever Johnny locks him in a room with an NPC, isolated from the rest of the group, in a social encounter. (Come to think of it, Mike playing something like Doll - A two-player GMless game designed for one-shots about a child who's just lost a pet talking to their doll or stuffed animal - would make for fabulous viewing. Only mechanics there are to determine if the doll may lie or must tell the truth in response to questions)
