I rewatched the very first episode recently and I think Barnaby, having taken level 2 damage by over indulging, and then taking another level 2 falling thru the roof, may have actually been close to dying. I might be wrong, but I was definitely scared for him when that fall happened!

@@razgriz821 they all do really. It's beer and pretzel style ttrpg with an emphasis on comedy. Like a ttrpg sitcom really. Everything's gotta return to a baseline in the end. I believe they have yet to realize that a character death isn't that likely to tank the show. Although there's also the cost angle of a character death. New art for a new character will have to be commissioned, a new costume will have to be produced, and we don't really know how long they actually spend creating a character. With their other responsibilities, it could take em a month.

Overindulging does actually clear all of your stress - I remember that distinctly because a character in my campaign lost his vice purveyor after the first score due to it Edit: Nine stress also clears your stress and gives you a point of trauma - it isn't nine plus one to tip you over

Was just gonna ask the hive mind about it, I can't see anything in the book about not clearing the stress. It says "if you clear more stress levels than you had marked, you overindulge". I take that to mean that you still clear the stress.

When I saw the look on Luke's face right around then, I did wonder if he was thinking something along the lines of "Dear god, how am I going to get us out of this one safely?" But he kept it together brilliantly. I was so relieved that Zillah thought to pull out that mirror shard and gave them both something to work with.

I would argue they technically didn't kill anybody that time. The cult sent out a sacrifice and the demon killed them, which apparently happens monthly?, and would have happened whether our crew was there or not. The heat, if any, should be on them.

Both true, but in the rpg world building spirit of the concept of being wanted by the police, it seems unlikely they would be connected to anything, seeing that the spirit wardens rarely come out there for deaths anyway, and the man who died was a 95yo recluse who lived in the castle for years, and the obviously frequent deaths in this place mean that if they were seen around there, which I don't recall they really were, they were more likely intended to be killed rather than to kill. I don't think the bluecoats would ever look into them for this. And the guy Lilith struck last week was also a double of a reclusive man who still has more copies, so did he even really die? Although that did happen right in the middle of a city street. But to each his own interpretation of course.

It's important there was some serious consequence to that 4 on attacking a *demon*, for the general game to work. I'll take two heat over level 3 harm (if Zillah had been hit instead of Cyrus) or trauma (from resisting the harm with no stress left) any day!

This might be my favorite episode yet! I’m a bit sad Barnaby didn’t turn into a vampire. Zillah is living her best Hitman/Lara Croft life being a badass, love it. Luke did an incredible job with this episode. Please tell me we will get more seasons, this can’t possibly be the end, right?
