This has to be one of my favorite jumpcuts I've seen unironically happen in a show. Yugi's asking such a valid question and then it cuts like a spoof to Bakura savaging a steak before cutting back to Yugi being like "btw, didn't he seem kinda off to you?" and Pharaoh's like "Yeah, a bit."

No-no, guys; you've got it all wrong. The scene wasn't censored for being "too scary." Listen - Bakura says "it needs more blood." And look at the steak when he bites it in half... There is absolutely _no pink_ in the middle! _That Steak is Well-Done!_ Not even 4Kids could allow a travesty like that to air.

Just an out there theory but perhaps the reason this was cut was because 4Kids changed Dark Bakura’s personality a lot to the point that this scene would seem heavily out of character for him. In the dub he’s portrayed as more formal and mild mannered (up front at least), whereas in the original he was always more “primal” and coarse. In short dub Dark Bakura wouldn’t be the kind to rip into a large steak in two bites and complain it’s not bloody enough.

Yeah dub Yami Bakura is more of a manipulator. He’s more likely to trick you into drinking poison then to force feed you said poison

There are lots of cases where 4kids went the completely opposite side though. For example, when Bakura meets Marik, in the original Bakura returns the formalities by saying who he is after Marik did so, while in the dub Bakura just rudely responds he doesn't care.

Whenever yugioh leaves something out of from dub it always feel like some kinda of lost episode vibe people would theorize about. Probably because how well animated that scene was. (Tbh i kinda understand why it was cut out it does look violate but its just a peice of steak )

4kids are not wrong for not including this scene. How he eats the steak is too graphic. The dialogue is haunting but it would be funny if he said "this beats tacos and deep dish pizza, wish i had ice cream for dessert though"

this is me at around one year old when my relatives fed me steak (true story, have LOVED steak since, rare/medium-rare is my favorite holy I love steak so much I could eat steak any time I don’t care the cut, so long as it’s bloody and I remove the fatty bits,, augh I’m so hungry I can’t take it anymore) least sane steak enjoyer
