When evaluating depreciation/devaluation to fix current acc deficit, is it that you would make a point about the J curve effect OR the marshall lerner condition, or would you speak about both? if both, how?

Trade deficit is Imports - Exports (M - X) and not the other way around as shown in the video.

No - the trade balance is X-M If M >X then there will be a trade deficit If M
