here's a summary of the key points discussed regarding testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and its potential effects on heart health:
Potential questions answered by top trt experts
1. why using trt would increase your risk of you know heart disease?
2. maybe perhaps segue into what are the other potential negative side effects of using trt?
3. can testosterone causes hypertension?
4. can trt increase heart disease?
5. why his testosterone was low in the first place?
6. testosterone may have a lot of benefits
7. is testosterone can reverse metabolic syndrome?
8. what are the effects of hematocrite hemoglobin?
1. **Background**: There has been concern and debate about the cardiovascular risks associated with TRT, especially after the FDA issued a black box warning in 2019 linking it to heart disease.
2. **Previous Studies**: Early studies, including a VA study and subsequent meta-analyses, suggested a potential increase in heart attack, stroke, and death among men on testosterone therapy.
3. **Traverse Trial**: However, a recent randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial called the Traverse trial has provided more nuanced insights. It enrolled men with pre-existing heart disease or high risk for heart disease and found no increased risk of heart disease among those on testosterone therapy.
4. **Differentiating Factors**: It's essential to distinguish between primary erythrocytosis (such as polycythemia vera) and secondary erythrocytosis induced by testosterone therapy. The latter is more common and typically not as severe or problematic.
5. **Multifactorial Risks**: The effects of testosterone on red blood cell count are multifactorial and can be influenced by various factors such as genetics, altitude, sleep apnea, smoking, and dosage. Managing these factors is crucial in mitigating potential risks.
6. **Monitoring and Management**: Regular monitoring of hemoglobin, hematocrit, iron levels, and other relevant markers is essential for individuals on TRT. It's not just about keeping these values within normal ranges but also understanding individual risk factors and adjusting treatment accordingly.
7. **Individualized Approach**: There's no one-size-fits-all approach to TRT. Treatment should be personalized based on the patient's medical history, genetic predispositions, lifestyle factors, and response to therapy.
8. **Balancing Benefits and Risks**: While TRT can offer significant benefits in terms of quality of life and well-being, it's essential to weigh these against potential risks, particularly regarding cardiovascular health. This includes adopting a holistic approach to health with a focus on diet, exercise, and overall lifestyle factors.
9. **Ongoing Research**: The field of TRT and its effects on cardiovascular health is continually evolving. New studies and clinical trials provide valuable insights that help refine our understanding and management of this therapy.

So I have thalesemia minor and high BP. Was on bp meds and it killed my libido and got ED. I was under chronic stress. I had to change my lifestyle, so I first started taking ashwaganda for my stress and anxiety , I felt changes after 3 weeks, I felt my libido come back and got more energy. I wanted to take testosterone therapy however I knew possible risks. I now take Tongkat Ali, ashwaganda, zinc and magnesium and I feel so much better. I have flushed my BP meds down the drain.. I will beat chronic meds and stress

What’s an example of a cardiovascular issue that might’ve been the root cause of low T?

A common cardiovascular issue that could lead to low testosterone levels is atherosclerosis, which can restrict blood flow to the testes.

Have you spoken to your clinician or, self medicating on bunk gear? Sounds like you ran a vial and then it's cleared out of your system on the 2nd one because it's either completely bunk or severely underdosed. If you're on legit trt... Speak to your clinic

It's common for hormone levels to fluctuate when starting TRT. Give it some time, and things may stabilize.

So once you go on trt you won’t get your natural production back ?
@balancemyhormones
@balancemyhormones 15 күн бұрын
Your natural testosterone level is always in a state of flux in a daily basis. Exogenous testosterone suppresses your HPTA and the release of gonadotropins LH and FSH. Most patients will get a return of the HPTa to a certain degree after a period of time without exogenous testosterone. The question is if it’s adequate to prevent the symptoms of low testosterone when your own levels kick back in to some degree. There’s no guarantee that you will return to the levels that were measured before starting TRT. You might achieve those levels at some point after stopping or you may never return as you’re now older, more oxidative damage, potential atrophy of gonads if no HCG used. But even if you return to your baseline you may not feel symptom free at that level as you’ve improved with TRT. Bit some will stop and be fine with being under their own levels and many will not.

Agreed I was fighting with my urologist for nearly six months with levels right around 200 he did not want to prescribe me and insurance did not want to cover it but I hear about women getting on right away and having insurance cover it because they think they're men.
