Same man. It's lame that it was even released with only the first act and so little class options. Me and my boyfriend played through Divinity 2 together and we are both just waiting with bated breath for this thing to fully come out. I want to play as a Paladin and he wants to be a bard. Both of them are classes that STILL aren't in the game despite being promised. I really don't want to wait until 2023

Yup I'm not touching until its done, but it's starting to seem like that will be so much content, early access is the only way you'd experience it all. Or playing through the game 10 times

to be fair it feels more like divinity 3 than a baldur's gate game. the only difference is setting and the textures. that's the thing. honestly the game's not ready yet also. it needs another year in the oven. but i doubt larian will be given the time. it's all going to be rushed out. :c we shouldn't even had early access to the game on it's date. also people who like something critique it because we want the best possible outcome. i'm not putting down the company or the game.

Agreed. There is no way that EA will get close to what Larian is achieving with this game. Every character I create in bg3 feels like an authentic character that I'm adventuring with due to the role playing options available in combination with the overall systems. Other RPG makers are not even in the same ballpark generally speaking but especially not AAA developers who only really make pay to win shooters. I do have respect for other developers like Owlcat etc that have that attention to systems.

I'm not an old school rpg player i first played DA origins and made my way back kotor and other older titles and its evident in the writing that the passion and thought put into the previous games exceeds anything in the recent ones since EA got their hands in there

For sure! Haven't played a lot compared to some, but i've ealready been able to play 60 hours meanwhile knowing i've missed content

I have 70 hours already and I missed a big chunk of content for a while without knowing it lol. I wish we weren't limited to level 4 though you hit the cap very quickly with all the content available it feels jarring to stop progressing entirely about halfway through the act.

Plot twist, the game ends when you reach Baldur's Gate.

not only that but you even have a couple of choices of scale patterns and color shade along with a extra spell associated with that dragon type along with giving you the option to let you change whatever color it is so you can have silver ancestry but have the scale color of bronze

I am now 379 hours in, on my second run. My female drow rogue is a wonderful thing indeed. My jaw is dropping as I explore Grymforge, slowly and surely, not missing a corner or a box. It is simply spectacular! So very well done Larian. And I thought DOS2 was good. This is better.

@@ARMAfuckenGEDDON I've played them all, my dude. :-) BG2 ToB was the best game of my childhood. played it through countless times. When I say BG3 is not a baldur's gate, I mean it, and it comes from experience and knowledge of both previous BG games and the new one. I didn't meant to say BG3 is a bad game, far from it, but it is not not a Baldur's gate game, much much more closer to be a Divinity 3.

@@eglib499 I'm not sure there's such a thing as an authority of a game, but as someone who played all BGs, IWDs, and Divinities, I think I'm not just blowing air. Let me rephrase it then. My opinion, as a fan of the genre, and the Baldur's gate games, is that BG3 is not BG enough for me. I think my main problem with the game are the similarities of BG3 to Divinitiy, that you call "natural evolution". Maybe it's just me, but when I think about BG, I think of the battle with the red dragon, discovering the story behind my heritage as powerful evil and make decisions to either follow that or resist to become my ancestors. Also the storylines with interesting companions and romance options. But I always remember it as an observer, looking down the whole story from above not up close. BG3 jumping around between close up and isometric is not really giving the good feeling for me. I prefer to keep things isometric and turn based or real time with pause. My objections towards BG3 were a bit intangible, at first but I didn't like the elements lifted from Divinity for sure, jumping, throwing barrels, elemental interaction. Not because they are not good things, but I associate those things with Divinity games, therefore Larian putting them into BG3 felt like a cheap low effort work. Story was, I guess playable, but but the island where BG3 started was pretty generic. And to be honest I didn't like the companions either (I think I killed most of them right after I met them :D + points for BG3 for that. ) To clarify once again, BG3 is not a bad game, but it failed to invoke the same feelings and excitement I had with BG2. Even when it referenced previous BG games, it felt cheap. I know Larian wanted to make something new, but I'd have liked to start the game in one of the areas or planes of BG2 with a character story of someone I know from BG2. That would have eased me into BG3 better. The worst review I can give to BG3 is that it didn't excite my gaming bones enough to keep playing it or replaying it or playing it late into the night. Also, I think Early Access was a big fat mistake. I sort of felt like they want to get a money infusion to continue developing it, and that always makes the game standing on weak legs, if the money stops flowing, the game quality will go down the toilet. I prefer games to be more or less completed before developers ask money for them.. And of course, Swen has a very punchable face. There can be no argument about that. :D Good news though: Just started playing Pathfinder WotR, and that' quite pretty close to what I'd have expected BG3 to be. I've not even close playing it through, but it's damn good so far. Quality voiceover, interesting characters, demonish story and good decisions. I do hope it will keep that up. So far it achieved what BG3 couldn't: I'm playing it late into the night.

Could always do a practice run to learn everything in the game so far then never touch it until 1.0 drops

Get it. It‘a way beefier than any AAA I’ve played this year (looking at you, Far Cry 6) and the game is not even fully finished yet… if that isn’t saying a lot then I don’t know.

I'm thinking to myself "they can't keep delivering this level of quality all the way to the end, can they?" But maybe they can. If so, this is gonna redefine the genre. Scrap that - redefine gaming.

It's kinda sure we will. Other races have been heavily datamined as well. I mean until it's confirmed we can't know for certain but a few things are beyond likely at this point.

I think the chances they aren't added are miniscule. Pretty sure all Core Races and their Subraces will be added.

Saves wouldn't work

Saves will break, most of the patches you couldn't continue after the patch. They are modifying core systems. That being said it has been worth a playthrough every patch and it's longer than most crap AAA games within the 1 act.

If it makes you feel any better, the devs said that the final product will be NOTHING like the early access.
