would love if anyone could confirm the brothers fate now when the full game is out

I saved all of them, both brothers, mayrina and her husband. Currently their corpses are in my camp in a box and waiting for a little re-union whenever i need 4 zombies.

I went through that most backwards way. I went to the goblin village , went down below a house into a spider cave, feather fell from there into the under dark, met Satan in a castle, climbed some mushrooms , stood on a blue teleporter, transported right outside aunties house and an now in her lair where the girl is being held captured. 😵‍💫😵‍💫 I didn't even know the girl was missing or have even met her brothers yet

Unfortunately, almost every time I've knocked someone out in the game, the game believes that they're dead

The Gur monster hunter also warns you after you kill her, that her entire coven will come after you to avenge her. As for the brothers, yeah, I don't think they made it back home.

Ethel has a pen pal in BG, it seems. I think they exchange interesting people as a hobby. So the brothers might have been sent to the other one, and the farm is where she lives.

Based on my experiences with Aunt Ethel, my money's on them being pigs at the farm, or scarecrows, or even just wooden posts.

Thank you! I was curious about this. On a side note, using Speak with Dead on Ethel before looting her charm from her body will allow her to speak (and insult you) more fluently. If you take the charm first, she speaks much like other bodies. She reveals some fairly interesting things.

I love how there are so many ways to complete quests in this game.

They really need to add in a patch to fix the knocked out situation because no DM worth their salt would say they were dead if you literally knocked them out if casting invisibility on Florrick is a viable option on her quest tbh.

When you socialize with Ethel in the Druids Grove and have the Shadowheart with you, she mistrust the Ethel and instruct you to doesn't give more informations to her

I wild shaped into a badger and tunneled underneath the first encounter, skipping it entirely. Found Ethyl already back at her house and dialog options seemed to reflect the brothers having died, so that must just be the default. Kind of surprised that skipping the initial encounter was not a scenario they accounted for.

Telling Myrina Autie killed her brothers is the best outcome from a game prospective, you get to fight the hag immediately and have a chance of killing her right there instead of doing it into her lair where she's way more difficult to deal with. You need to do a lot of damage quickly though, or she'll run away to live and fight another day.

I tried to save the brothers by chasing them and healing them. XD But they eventually disappeared and teleported their corpses to the normal position. I even tried jumping down into the swamp and not running into the brothers at all, hoping they would be spared, but that didn't save them either.

You can also just bypass their conversation entirely and go into the swamp. you have to do some lengthy jumps so either use slow fall/feather fall/fly to avoid damage, or just eat the fall damage and chug some potions. But basically you can go over to the...I guess it's west of where ethel and the brothers are talking, to that spot where the albino frog is. You can usually spot him pretty easy from above. He's near that log bridge that leads to the legit wood bridge to the side of the goblin camp. Anyway, just jump down into the frog's valley that log bridge and then walk into Ethel's cabin. OR, you can just clear out all of the traps in the water before the brothers wander into the area. Because that's what actually kills them. They get hit with multiple bleeding traps, and then get that infected wound disease as a result, and then die. But I specifically made a point to go clear out all the traps in the area they wander around in (they path a little funky so quicksave before), and then they go over to that bloody camp over to the side and despawn. They don't reappear as corpses in front of the tea house if you do that.

Very helpful, and great presentation editing it down to the essentials. The protection from evil is a key point missing from older guides since the mask now takes over immediately not just once you are past the woodface door.

Unfortunately, Larian seems to have a habit of not letting anyone being happy. Everything has to have a bitter element to it.

I've heard the Hag's Coven questline was cut when the full game came out. Hopefully, the devs will put all of the cut content in the game, and let me tell you, it's quite a bit of cut content. A lot of people don't like the ending(s) because they were tied to the cut content.

if u talk to the Monsterhuntsman for the first time AFTER u killed Ethel and WITHOUT Astarion he will smell fairies blood on u and telling that the others will come to hunt u down

When i encountered the old lady i suspected something wasn't right, so i knocked out the brothers and went to visit Ethal at the cottege, their is a dialouge prompt to indicate they are alive and I knocked them out, but she reacts as tho i killed them? TWICE!? Big bug in the game, hope they patch it soon

Its hard to save them and Myrina has only a bad outcome as a life lesson that some people even if you do your very best to save them, will still trample your efforts cause they are so immersed in their suffering

Sorcerer has the same one as the ranger option.

You get that same convo from the mask if you pickpocket the mask off them after beating the hag in the real fight (after she summons the masks to her side.) You will have to leave the map and come back for hostility to end. I did this solo as a thief.

when beta was released, you could talk them out of going after her. They even had it voiced, wonder why they decided to change it.

Pretty sure the quest is bugged in regards to saving the brothers because yes you can select non lethal attack on them, tell Mayrina that you knocked them out and then she responds as if they'd died, not just that the cutscene loops twice like it's glitched before Ethel teleports her away.

I used a scroll of hold person on both, then misty stepped a character to the tea house too initiate dialogue, though the game still acted as if they were dead even though I could cut back to my party and see they were very much still alive still under the effect of hold person.

You can go into turn based mode when they start running off. I killed the parasite that came out of the head of the true soul dying on the road that way. I resisted it and as soon as it ran off so I hit turn based mode and shot it with my hand crossbow. One hit.

I don't think knocking them out works in the most recent version because a lot of npcs just register as dead when the quests complete. I knocked out Mayrina during the Hag event when she was controlled and the game refused to let me revive her or help her up. When I went to camp and came back, all that was left was her amulet.

The brothers were already dead in my game, I found their bodies after I had met and killed the hag. I had no idea that they were originally alive 😮

I noticed during the encounter with brothers of Ethel takes damage she disappears, that’s intended correct?

I didn’t even know about her brothers…. I came in from behind Auntie Ethel’s from the mushroom circle in the Underdark. Near the Magic Tower, if you pass a series of perception and investigation checks, you can jump up the cliff. I jumped up using Karlach. At the top there’s a circle that will open up a teleporter so the rest of the group can rejoin. In this area is an illusory wall you can walk through to find another circle that warps you up behind the house. You will need to pick the lock to enter though. It’s the same area you find Mayrina in after the boss fight with the hag.

why am i so sure sutton farm far is a hag coven/ baldurs gate version of overlord demiurge s happy farm

Do these steps still work to save the beothers mow that the game is in full release? I didn't save them in my current run and I don't want to reload at this point, but if they still can be saved in the current version of the game I'll make sure to do it next time.

Question. I'm using the option to side with Ethel and then in the fight with the brothers use none lethal strikes. Ethel will still be grateful. The brother's will lie there unconscious for a while. I never found their corpses or any sign of blood. So I hope they survived? Have not finished act 3 to confirm it though. Also even if you just beat them unconscious, and you can say that to Mayrina, she will still act as if they were killed. Very strange!

I left Lae'zel fighting against brothers and the others ran to talk with Auntie Ethel. However, Auntie still told me that brothers are in Sutton farm, north of Baldur's Gate, while they are still fighting against Lae'zel.

I accidentally killed Mayrina during my battle with the hag. The cage caught fire and she dropped to her death. So they all dead now 😂😂

oh...uhh, i think i accidentally saved them by going to the underdark and coming up to ethels place from a jumping puzzle to a teleport circle, then i saw she was fey and killed her, then fought the red caps... i never saw the brothers so i guess they lived because of it.

So i was experimenting with this and I found out that there are two character model for the hag that exist simultaniously one in conversation with the brothers and the other in the tea house, not that important but I had one of my party members talk to the hag and brothers while the rest of my party made their way to the hag's real(?) body, in any case for any conversation or dialogue that leads to your character or anyone dispelling the illusion in the forest will triger the brother's death. I also tried only talking with the brothers after the hag leaves, so it won't be the hag that kills them, while doing this but it just causes the game to break making the party member that was with the brothers to get stuck in dialogue with no one and other stuff like multiple previous cutscenes triggering when attacking the hag inside the tea house because that also causes the hag to lift the illusion triggering the brother's death. The game literally breaks in your attempt to save the brothers unlike the case with Alfira. It's the in game cosmic force giving the brothers the middle finger essentially. This basically means all playthroughs have one thing in common for the time.

This ones just unfinished. You can tell Mayrina that her brothers were knocked out, but she reacts as if you killed them.

you can just use an invisibility potion and protection from good and evil Wear one of the mask, avoid the traps, make it down close to her, using invisibility and knock her in the hole killing her without a fight you’ll also need to be able to. I believe it was teleport past the traps and make sure you’re using visibility before you get too close to her.

About to watch, but the brothers lived in my story. Whatever I did, it got them to tell me where she was and all that. I would then break progression by sneaking downstairs while she was still up stairs.

Damn that sucks that one random dialogue choice determines their fate. Has anyone confirmed if they show up at Sutton Farm later on?

I tried and they just teleported and died in front of wiches house, i dont think this is an option in the full game

I passed the check to reveal the swamp and decided to sneak into the house through the back to ambush ethel and there killed her.

You can save them in multiplayer if someone suceed in the dice roll to uncover the truth about the swamp while someone speaks to the brothers it will have the effect of scaring them away and they'll live.

Man bg3 has so many different outcomes its almost annoying to realize you didn't get the best ending

To get the best outcome where myrina buries her husband. You have to save the brothers don’t get in the fight right off the bat and tell her about her brothers. Sneak down stares cast invisibility or greater invisibility to get past the watchers talk to myrnia again. Confront hag and beat hag. Then cast speak dead be sure your disguised auntie comes back pissed but ask her why she took her then tell myrnia. She’ll realize she was dubbed and give you a locket. Decline it since it’s her husband’s and she’ll take him home.

Do not be like me, do not summon ogres to fight Ethel...... they kill everything.....and i mean everything

The one hag vic does show up in act 3 if you save her. I remember spotting her in the old house with the hag hunters.

I mostly just find it strange that they know what a Hag is, but dont appreciate the danger.

I have experimented with starting the diag, fighting them then immediately putting them to sleep then attacking the hag, she doesnt instantly kill them. You basically run away from the fight im not sure if this was intended but technically you didn't kill them and the dialogue options do not indicate they are dead. im not sure if this will have an impact later on.

I don't really know what happened. I did non-lethal blow and even healed them back to max. Unfortunately the game didn't let me help them up and now they disappeared... apparently the game decided I killed them :C

Sadly if you shoot Ethel in the face off her sus vibes talking with the brothers, she blows up and kills both of them, and then you still have to face her down later

I just knocked them both out with non-lethal damaged and finished the quest. I got the same dialogue as them being alive so I think that works too.

I think the devs programes it aonyou have to fight her below. Currently as of this writing the hag escapes me. I used silence and tried to fight her at the first encounter she flees. Then i silence her and cancel her invisibility in the house and she flees again while silent.

her title is "sister of the shining pearl" or something, i forget the name, but 'sister' means shes a member of a coven which is exclusively made up of 3 hags

in my playthrough i followed them bc i went to help, but they were both dead anyway. I assume that was deliberate so you can't save them? I'm not even sure *what* killed them

I think the knock unconscious is completely useless and bugged. Every time I have used it, I have made sure I'm not using magic and only melee attacks, I check the ones I knocked unconscious during battle, and it says they're unconscious...until battle actually ends. Then they are suddenly dead. This happened with the brothers here, where I sided with Ethyl to make them hostile, then knocked them out, and it also happened with the four mask-wearing people in her gallery. All said on the tooltip that they were merely unconscious. All were actually marked as dead as soon as battle ended.

I "saved" the brothers by accident on maybe my third try. When the hag says "they are at such and such farm". Im like, "where did you hide the bodies".

yea most of the time I just let them get killed but see that if they survive you can check on them later, I probably do that when the game full come out and also when you do save Ethel you have to be careful with her to cause if you don't go the power to bring her dead husband back she will either attack you or stay there but heard her brother alive, maybe it another chance that she will finally accept that her husband it dead and also I still decide should I accept Auntie Ethel deal or not

This game just gets better and better. I didn't know my instinct to help would trigger their deaths. Ha, I can be a douche now and save them at the same time... Sweet.

Yeah , sadly I believed reddit when it said there were no time limits on the quests. So, I did other things instead of following those two. 3 days later I found their corpses.

Can you save any of the people in the basement? I was playing as a paladin and had the wise idea of striking the guy incased in stone to break him free. Now im an oathbreaker😔

make sure you talk to hag before you kill hag or she bugs out and coffin in back is permanently sealed by purple magic, had to go back 20 hours for this to get super wand

I have issues with the entire quest. She tells me they're at the Sutton Farm, all good there. Where I have problems is after beating the hag, I can't get into the fireplace to save the girl. I've tried everything I've found online, but nothing works. I had hoped the latest patch would fix it, but it didn't.

I thi k 3hat I did worked, when the two brothers tried to dight me, I just used non lethal mode and knocked them out. But I was definitely not fast enough to kill the hag before she fled. Turned invisible and fled.

I'm not sure if you go there via Underdark if they will be dead. But I got there and didn't even saw them.

When I played after the full release, and killed Ethel, the halfling still has heer mask on, and says nothing.

Has anyone found them at Sutton Farm yet? I’ve been stuck in Act 1 (pretty sure my own fault, had mods before the patch drop and well the game quickly became unstable around the adamantine forge 😅 sucks I was almost done) so haven’t been able to check yet myself.

I didn't even talk to them, I killed them on sight, so they don't go to the swamps.

Mine was bugged I knocked them out instead of killing them and told Mayrina as much and it triggered her griefing interaction: "their dead all dead" I was like...uhm....no?

In my game, I only found the body of one of the brothers, Demeir(?), and spoke to his corpse. I wonder if you talk to him after saving his sister if he'll thank you. 🤔
