That thick fluffy pancake-like dessert is called terang bulan/martabak manis. It is very popular in Indonesia, and you can get it with many different fillings from chocolate, cheese, peanuts, sesame seeds,raisins etc. Oh and the savory martabak is also very good, you should give it a try.

Loving your videos (and missing Indo..) A couple of helpful hints: As mentioned elsewhere, C is pronounced Ch. Nasi = rice, c(h)ampur = mix. It's a standard meal for locals which can vary wildly depending on what's cooking. The little fried vege cakes are bergedel (or berkedel, or perkedel, depending on where you are). The yellow lumpy ones are corn (bergedel jagung) and the potato version you had a few days ago was berkedel kentang. I know these things because I'm shamefully fluent in Bahasa Makan and not much else.. Also, the crowd you followed for a mile was one of a multitude of ceremonies permanently occurring all over Bali. They take priority over everything else. It won't be your last slow ride.. Getting hungry..

Thank you for taking the time to share all that info! Special thanks for the correction on the 'C' pronunciation 😂 Berkedel kentang is quickly becoming one of our favorite dishes.

So glad you liked the night market. Isn't it so refreshing just to be with locals doing their normal evening family thing. Those processions are frustrating when you're behind them, but the next one might be coming towards you so you can pull over and watch the whole thing pass by. Thanks for the great video. Hi Tia and Chev. Found your KZfaq channel recently and really like the way you present your videos. As an older 50plus couple my wife and I are starting to embark on, and continue travel in Asia to see and investigate the different places we will base ourselves for 3 months at a time. We have 3 weeks in Bali in November to start our quest on choosing these places. Before the “situation” we have seen a little of Thailand and Vietnam. If at all possible could you please put up a quick map location on some of the places you visit. I try and find where your at using landmarks and places you mention but sometimes I don’t find them.
@OnePackWanderers

Hello, Peter 🙂 Good suggestion on including more maps. We are posting a video tonight and we will include a map to show where we’re headed. And we will try to remember to keep doing that. Bali should be fully awake by November, that sounds like a perfect time to visit! Cheers! Cheveyo & Tia

You could eat with a family of 4 for less than US$ 10 and have a meal fit for a king on this market. Indonesian cuisine is so good and you two are now so experienced in recognizing the best options available. It shows. Going straight for the Nasi Campur, the Murtabak, the sugar cane juice and the corn. Couple that with the awesome fresh sambal and you are envied the world over by anyone that knows and loves this type of food. And there is so much more to explore. You are so cute in the way you connect with the locals. Maybe you can show us some more of that. Let us experience a bit how friendly these Balinese people are and how they respond to you. 😃😄😁🙃🙂

@@OnePackWanderers Use Tia: in this case the same scale. Interact with the children by showing them the pictures or videos you took from them. Before you know it you have a whole gathering. Visit a school or a medical centre. In Lovina there were typically some English speaking foreign doctors around. Don't worry, the locals won't bite (usually). Especially outside of the tourist centres like Sanur, Kuta and Seminyak people are very friendly. 😅😅😅 Enjoy the beach and ask around about the dolphins.
