We sing this song every year at the final concert and this is my choir directors last year after 13 years. I'm crying already. The story behind this song is heartbreaking one too. A school had no choir program and someone came and made an amazing one out of nothing, then in a shooting the teacher was killed. This was for the teacher. My teacher tells us the story every year....

Our choir sang this in a Cathedral in New York City. I don't think any of us realized how beautiful this song is until our voices echoed through the halls at 2:43. Almost every one of us had tears coming down our faces during that moment. Very, very powerful song with so many memories.

When we sang this, I never wanted this part to end because today with all the division, in that moment we were all hurting together without judgement but empathy and understanding and it was so beautiful. It was a time to let all frustration out and we were joyful and at peace by the end. Love this song❤️

my choir is doing this in a month and i am slightly (very) concerned about how we're gonna get it right in time LMFAOOO. i'm an alto and i'm pretty sure the altos are at least mostly good and prepared and the sopranos and tenors even are i think. but the basses get their timing so bad sometimes and sing all the wrong notes so im a lil concerned but yeah right!! if we sounded half as good id be happy HAHA

I’ve performed this song twice. Once during my sophomore year of high school with my favorite music teacher I’ve ever had. A year later, that teacher left, but I passed my audition to get into a county-wide choir concert, and we performed this song again. I remember being so excited because this was by far my favorite piece we had ever done with him. I’ll never forget this song.
@thevintagefetcher11 жыл бұрын
this is really quite well done. The best version, I think. So often, the beginning is over-directed, and the accompanist is following rather than leading. Wonderfully accompanied here, however. I think the blend is magnificent, especially in the beginning harmonies. Here, the singers and accompaniment outshine the director, which is as it should be, as it means he's already put in his work. The musicians have command of this piece, without a doubt. Thank you!
