The second trailer for the Hunger Games prequel film "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" just dropped and it is packed. Join me as I breakdown some of the easter eggs and clues from the trailer. This film is based on the best selling novel of the same name "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes".
This trailer contains very minimal spoilers. If you have not read the books, do not worry as I avoid spoiling some of the big moments from this trailer.

Great breakdown ! I find Zegler's rendition of 'The Hanging Tree' to be chilling. Between the book, the cast and the feel of this trailer I think this could be a really good movie, maybe the best of the bunch. The trick will be to somehow convey the essence of Snow's internal dialog to the audience. If they succeed, the ending will be quite poignant. Rachel is perfectly cast as Lucy Gray who is mercurial, flirts with everybody and is 16 going on 35 according to Highbottom. She sings some songs from the book which one of the movie producers describes: ' “Rachel often would opt not to do playback, and just sing it live. Often, after they would call cut, people would just go bananas clapping!” Those live on-set vocals will be included in the final product - and there’s one scene in particular that Jacobson’s especially excited for: “The big finale moment…un-fucking-believable. Her voice is jaw-dropping.” '' But you knew all this I bet. I am very much looking forward to the movie and will see it in the theater and probably will see it more than once.

Idk if someone made this connection before but the rainbow snakes are a representation of Lucy and Snow. He’s the snake and she’s the rainbow (her dress)

14:31 that's one of Corio's classmate's father. Corio and Tigris saw him chop off their maid's (who recently died) leg.

Katniss learned the hanging tree from her father when she was younger. Her mother got mad when she sang it at home. That was learned in the book.

It’s such a shame Rachel Zegler’s actions in interviews for Snow White have made her come across as unlikeable and might overshadow this film with negative press. This film looks great and her performance looks stellar in this. I hope she keeps quiet for a while so this film does well.

@@kamronramelmeier9264 well that’s fair enough and an idea I personally agree with. However my point is that a large of group of people unlike you and me, will connect the art with the artist. The Snow White film looks like a shit show and her comments have the press hungry like bloodhounds to destroy the success of this actress and by happenstance any projects she’s involved with for the next few years. It’s sad but they will fan those flames despite what seems to be a great performance.

The book was terrible, imho. By far the worst of the series... Hopefully the movie is an improvement.

@@windflower2750 The whole book felt uninspired and boring. It was like watching somebody else watching the Hunger Games, but if most of the time they were just watching commercials. Snow's perspective was largely uninteresting. The most interesting character from the book was Lucy Gray, but we don't get anything from her perspective, and her appearances in the book were so sparse that she may as well have been a tertiary character.
