I thought him shooting in the woods was where he was calling out Lucy's name in the end trying to shoot her and the birds was mocking him by singing Hanging from the Tree

@tiamia2370 No it would have been mid morning! I just finished the book last night so it is super fresh but his bunk mates had like just started their day when he got back from that whole ordeal because that was an off day where they could sleep in. No one knew he was gone for several hours. He and Lucy Gray left for the woods at the asscrack of dawn lol

You were wondering if anyone could tell who it was that’s with Lucy Gray at 12:35. I’m almost certain that it’s Jessup. He’s the only tribute she interacted with in the arena that didn’t involve them trying to kill each other.

Yeah the shot at 0:52 in the trailer where Snow says to take care of you in the frame with Lucy you can see who I believe to be Jessup listening in the background

Yes that’s most likely Jessup and the three tributes was chasing Sejanus and Snow not Lucy Gray and Jessup.

Idk if you skipped that scene of him firing into the trees because it is a spoiler so I will enter a few times so that you need to click read more but that is definitely from the end of the book so... He was firing at the mockingjays and (potentially) Lucy Gray singing the hanging tree while he was trying to kill her.

That's not Cornucopia in the arena. There was no Cornucopia in the Games yet. That is rubble from the arena roof.

I’m so excited we are finally getting a hunger games movie that is actually going to hunger games. We haven’t had one since catching fire. I really wanted Mockingjay part two to count, but it just didn’t give me happy hunger, games vibes. Love that the Dean’s name is Highbottom and his ass is always high 😂

@@ninaxwings the whole point was that mockingjay WAS a hunger games, just in real life. quote from finnick "ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 76th hunger games" unquote. and it's not lost on me that you (and so many others i'm not just calling you out!!) are excited for the games part more than anything else and have also been complaining it doesn't look like the original hunger games movies "games wise" - it's kind of proving the point of the whole thing and why the capitol aired it and how humans are excited to watch kids getting killed it's so tone deaf that that's the part people are most excited for hahaha its a bit ironic to me imo it's lowkey real messed up

@@ieatzebraarah I don't understand what watching the video and her pointing out a popular fan theory compute. And no, Suzanne Collins never confirmed that Lucy is Katniss's grandmother, so Maude being her grandmother is absolutely plausible and yes I read the book.

It's a lovely theory and makes a lot of sense, Maude never forgetting a tune, having heard Hanging Tree from Lucy and it surviving through her family. I keep thinking how President Snow must have felt when Katniss singing it invaded his transmission. To have such a view into his hatred for mockingjays is SO NICE. The idea that he maybe had some special reason to hate Katniss in particular also explains a lot.

Style is cyclical, and they probably lost a lot of manufacturing ability during the "dark days" like holographic tvs and hover trains.

Yes, it is meant to remind us of communist era Russia mixed with nazi Germany from the architechture and the sgrafito on the walls of the Academy...

I do love that 50s/60s "futurism" appearance that they have got going on here with the old train in District 12, the poster on the wall beside it, the tv font etc. We have no idea what the actual year is in either this book or the 3 HG books so I guess they have pushed it back to what looks to be around those 2 decades with Katniss's story taking place closer to our current present, or a little bit later. I also love that there's things/words that seem to have become lost in the HG books eg. what they refer to as "morphling" is morphine, the only district that knew CPR was Finnick's district (Katniss doesn't realise that he's trying to resuscitate Peeta in _Catching Fire_ when he's electrocuted) etc.
