I'm a beginner adult in a ballet school in my 30s. I've been a party parent twice and I love it. It's the only part I can play right now and the professionals are happy to let us do it.

I played the grandmother one year and thoroughly enjoyed it. The professionals in general didn’t particularly like the party scene. During the parents’ dance the dancer playing the father said, “I’m so bored.”

I played angels once in a ballet academy. It wasn't that professional or anything, only the older people had pointe shoes. I was in grade 1 (I think?) and they used hula hoops at the bottom of the skirt to make it look puffier. I remember like the whole grade 1 class I went to just dancing together on stage and mostly parents in the seats. It was fun tho.

I'm guessing that's a dance company, in which case it's fair to think that if the director sees this, they could be less inclined to give that role to those who dislike it or something.

Non hating queen… it’s okay to have something you don’t like! It doesn’t make you hateful. Very odd what their teaching these kids these days. She’s going along to get along!

I watched a performance of Nutcracker last December, and the Chinese seemed to be the crowd's favorite out of the "toys section" because the girl was KILLING it. During bows, she actually got the most applause lol (other than the leads of course).
